GMT Master II Bezel issues/removal

So my 2007 116713 has lost that snappy bezel movement and it is more "sticky" for lack of a better word.

Is this fixable DIY? If so, I imagine this would require removing the bezel which sounds super scary. Is it?

Or....is this a sign to send in for a full service.

Thanks for the insight.

If you take it apart you will have pieces flying everywhere, these are not generally DIY.

Have you simply washed it out with warm soapy water?

Tried soapy water with moving it back and forth. No dice.

Its not a DIY job. Its held on with a one use only "Hytrel" washer. Once removed its damaged and cannot be re-used. You'd have no way to re-secure it once taken off. Plus you'd need specific jigs and dies. This is not a "pop off with a knife" type.
This would be classified as a "quick service" (over the counter while you wait) type job at an RSC or accredited workshop at a retailer, however given the age of the watch, I'm sure they'd recommend a full service.
If its performance is good, you can refuse the service but it may be considered too old for a part job only.
