Great choice, OP! I sometimes wear the black sub date to the gym. I agree the clasp is a must for such activities. Plus it comes in handy to time stretches etc.

I feel like my watch is now only the 2nd best bodybuilding watch. Any timepiece Dorian Yates wears will be superior.

I can't wait until the fake bodybuilder guy chimes in and starts whining like a BETA!

That isn't even remotely what anyone except you thinks is wrong about this thread.

What you are hung up on is "competitive bodybuilding". Competitive Bodybuilders do not own the word "bodybuilding".

If I challenge my son to see who can run to the end of the block fastest, we are racers. The F1 crowd doesn't get upset if we call it racing.

Correct. There are three competitive activities primarily reliant on lifting lots of weights: weightlifting, powerlifting, and bodybuilding. Each has serious elite competitors that define the sport. Each also has a very distinct style of workout that goes along with it, that anyone can do for recreational fitness.

One is optimized for explosivity, one for sheer strength, one for maximal lean mass. There’s some overlap but they’re overall very different. Many people also have these same goals and therefore work out accordingly. So, any novice can be “bodybuilding” in the gym if that’s the workout style they choose.

Unless he has some kind of endorsement deal with the brand (not unlike other athletes)...

I don't know if he actually has ever had such a relationship w/Panerai, but he was definitely synonymous with the brand for a time as numerous characters he portrayed wore them.

I just don't like running with a heavy watch. I feel it 10x more when I'm doing stuff. I like my G-Shock for exercising.

As many of you know this watch was considered the best bodybuilding watch in 2022.

Now that some of you have the new titanium yachtmaster in hand, is this still the consensus?

Or has the oysterflex Daytona surpassed , since Chris Bumstead was recently spotted training with one on?

The risk factor of damaging it would rule it out and I’d find some other way of leaving it in a secure place

I hate watches while I am lifting as I wrap my wrist and don’t want to babysit a watch from scratching. That said, the best looking watch I have seen time after time with high profile bodybuilders is a Panerai. Panerai just plays the role so well for stacked, jacked, and juiced personalities. It’s a “hero watch” for sure.
