Is the New Daytona Actually 40mm

From memory the older Daytona was actually 38.5mm, is the latest iteration a genuine 40mm?

I tried the WG on yesterday and it felt pretty similar, did not have a 40mm feel, and the outer ring, so prominent in photos, was near on invisible on the wrist, just blended into the case.

By contrast the YM 42 on OF feels massive, almost like a 43mm, Rolex have got these watches backwards for me, the Daytonas should feel like and be a real 40 and YM more like 41/2, but they still want the Daytona to be a unisex watch, wish they would then just make a 42 version in that case.

The new daytona is much closer to 40mm and bigger than older models. The older models were advertised as 40mm but were much closer to 39mm.

There are some videos on youtube showing that the caliper measurements are very similar. I tried on a RG version and did not notice much of a difference

Fixed that for you.

Plat, WG, RG and all Oysterflex Daytonas were always nearly 40mm with different cases than the SS, TT and YG116508 references

Almost Danny.

The PM references (apart from the YG on oyster 116508) were always larger.

I own both 116500ln and 126500ln

The new 12 series is much bigger - extremely obvious but I mean that in a good way - the 116500ln is way too small for me because i have a 7.5 inch wrist .. absolutely hate my wrist size but I’m stuck with what I’ve got so for that reason I prefer the newer larger sized steel Daytona

All of the new 126 references measure 39.88mm according to Rolex. Rolex measurements and real-world measurements often vary.
