How Does This 16710 Look to You?

Greetings, all. Longtime lurker, first time poster here. I’m in the market for a 16710 with SEL and have been communicating with a reputable seller regarding this one. I’d appreciate opinions on the condition/extent of polishing on this one (2002 with box/papers), based on the below photos. Any watch I end up purchasing will likely go to RSC for a service/cleaning and (light) polishing, so I don’t want to spend the $ on an already overpolished example. I plan on swapping the bezel insert to a Pepsi, so any insert defects aren’t really a concern. Many thanks.

The pictures are not the best to assess case condition, but based on the side view, it looks like it has been polished because the lug hole and edges look soft and rounded. However, they didn't remove too much metal, so it's above average I would say. Still has thick lugs, just a bit soft on the edges.

The rotating bezel also looks soft around the edges.

I'll give it a 7 out of 10. I would try to find sharper examples personally.

A picture square on and side on would help

Polished, but not overly so. Not a bad example. Price?

For context, I personally wouldn't pay a dime over 11K USD for this.

Good luck!

This one is certainly polished.
It has a nice sherif coke bezel though. Sending this to RSC and loosing it to swap for a non serif thin font Pepsi is not the best idea to say the least. Replace it with a junk one and then send it :)

Ask is $12,800, but I agree, not worth more than $11K.

There are a fair amount on the market, yes, but when you rule out shady Chrono24 dealers with minimal feedback/reviews, and overly polished/worn examples, that mostly leaves the mint/NOS examples. And while I do want one in very good to excellent condition, I don't intend on paying $17K-20K for it.

If you're serious, send me a DM and I'll send you a link to a couple beauties in the 12.5K range. Or just do a quick search here and you'll find them.

If you buy it, keep it original.
