Datejust 41 brings a premium in Grey market?

I thought I wanted a SkyD for a while but came to appreciate the DJ41 just as much for the simplicity and classic look. Not to mention I'm a new Rolex buyer so I'd like something that I won't have to wait several years for but it seems the ADs are saying the same thing for the DJ41. I've started looking around the grey market and it seems they are mostly very old ads.

It's been mentioned here on TRF several times that some refs are selling for msrp (or below) in the grey market, the DJ41 isn't one of them it would appear?

On a side note, how many of you wear a jubilee bracelet casually? I want this for a dressier watch but want to wear casually 75% of the time.

Check with our trusted sellers, for pricing. Tell them what color you want. Jubilee can be worn casually. Lots of divers are worn on Jubilee, so that shouldn’t be a concern.

I do this both casual and formal.(it's 36 though)
Price wise in grey it depends on configuration

Well, look at that, you have the very configuration I'm looking for.

on second thought - you have diamonds at 6&9? I just want the Azzuro

Second this. There are tons of DJ not moving on the used market. I would imagine in a few weeks our TS will be more inclined to negotiate

I've been seeing some Date Justs on AD shelves over the last few weeks, and not just iced out versions. I saw two Wimbledon dials and a 41 with a silver dial last week,

I've reached out to a couple, but they've all replied that their ads are very old. I'm trying to be careful not to make this into a wanted ad...

I was in the same situation and was considering the DJ and SkyD but came to same conclusion. Both AD's I spoke to told me the wait for DJ would be about a year. One month later one of the ADs came through. I'd say be patient. My sense (and experience) is that the DJ wait time is not as long as advertised.

Don’t sleep on the 36. An all-time classic size.

And even easier to get from the AD.

don't pay over retail for a datejust. they are easy to come by and come in regularly to most ADs.

The elevated prices are simply from those greys trying to hold up the market to make people think it's worth paying more than retail.

You can get a DJ from most AD's fairly quick at retail.

Check with local AD's. You should be able to pick one up at retail. I have a DJ 36 and Pepsi on jubilee and wear both casually.

My SA told me that I could put in an order for a specific configuration DJ, and he could definitely get it for me, with the exception of the very latest releases, such as the mint green.

some say don't ever get diamonds, some say don't go with precious metal, some say don't do two-tone
If I had to heed everyone's opinion, I wouldn't have a Rolex at all.

You should be able to buy an Azzuro DJ from an AD with minimal wait time IMO.

Azzurro is my favourite dial in DJ41.
Absolutely gorgeous but tricky to get if you want fluted/jubilee.

I was offered a stainless DJ41 last time I walked in to my AD (a month ago). Wasn’t my dial color preference (my pref is blue dial) but everything else was (sticks / smooth / jubilee).

They are available but may depend on how specific/flexible you are with config.

DJ41 is a near perfect reference for a one and done Rolex. I think the stick indexes are awful though. They lack the facets and light play you get on the smaller DJ references. I have owned blue black and silver all fluted jubilee and sold all in time as they don't get worn in a rotation.
