Ohh WOW! She is such a cutie. I rescue small breeds, but if I am ever in a position to have a larger dog it would be a boxer or a bull mastiff.
She is soooo cute and your other girls look like they approve of the baby. We have a boxer down the street that is old and chubby and loves everyone. His name is Joe Boxer and he is simply a wonderful dog. She is such a doll! Congrats! I love babies :) |

I have had boxers ALL my life and they are the best dogs in the world hands down. I usually always had two at a time so that I could just let them outside and they could run together. (you know what I mean) But I never had three at one time so you are a true boxerman.
This was my best boxer and his name was Maximus. He was the best dog ever and was bred from Dr. William Truesdale an icon in the Boxer world . BUT like almost EVERY boxer I have had he died (all due to various cancers) waay before his time. I don't want to talk negatively about the breed because I love them so but I still get very emotional when I look at his many pictures and I have tons. I will not be buying any more boxers for the rest of my life. It hurts way too much and I get too attached to them(We dont have Kids). My next breed of dog will be an Olde English Bulldogge. I have done much research on this breed and contacted many breeders and this is final for me. Good luck with your dogs and may they live a very long time. PS his nickname was "Majestic" |

Than you all very much for your kind replies.
Bruno, I know very well what you mean when you say you get too attached. Like me. I am the same way! Yes it hurts way too much and mine are all family members...don't even want to think about it. I guess I am lucky and all my boxer so far became older than 10 and 11 years...I had no cancer in mine. Maximus was a great looking one. I have 3 now and I have to say it is not much more work than 2...you just have to get over the first one or two years...

Great looking dogs Fred. I found this quote that sums up boxers very well.
“ The character of the Boxer is of the greatest importance and demands the most solicitous attention. He is renowned from olden times for his great love and faithfulness to his master and household. He is harmless in the family, but distrustful of strangers, bright and friendly of temperament at play, but brave and determined when aroused. His intelligence and willing tractability, his modesty and cleanliness make him a highly desirable family dog and cheerful companion. He is the soul of honesty and loyalty, and is never false or treacherous even in his old age. ” — 1938 AKC Boxer breed standard[ This is my boxer Izzi.

Phillip, Izzi looks very good. Yes, that describes a boxer very, very well!!! They are great with kids and would fight for their family and never back down. Good friends to have.

Congratulations on your new family member. I grew up with a brindle Boxer named Mack. He was the best dog and I love him dearly to this day. I wish you many happy fulfilled years. Best wishes!

Fred: man, what a cute pup! enjoy your boxers! lately, i've been running into a lot of people who are extremely attached to their animals(dogs included) and regard them 100% as a family member. I've raised Dalmations(many years ago) and enjoy my cats. I've had many different dogs(husky/malmute combo, german shepard, collie) and in growing up my cousins had golden retrievers, a breed I love....but i think my pet days are coming to an end(slowly), they are work, as you well know.
