Thoughts about MontBlanc watch
Hi all,
I would like to hear some opinions or experiences with this MB Star Legacy Full Calendar. I really like the design and complication and I’m considering this one as my dress watch. My question is if anyone here has some experience with wearing this watch or maintaining the movement? Is this watch worth of buying? The price is really good for this type of complication. If anyone has some photos I would appreciate it if you post them.

Sir,
If you would like to spend $5K plus tax for a Montblanc watch (to use as a dress watch) why not save up just little and get a pre-owned Rolex Datejust or Oyster Perpetual - which are both a vastly superior watch compared to a Montblanc (non chronometer)….. |

I don't want to say anything bad, as times change, but the original definition of "dress watch" means a watch without complications. As far as I know, the moon phase may be the exception to this classical definition.
However, if you want a complication watch, I would definitely not choose this one. |

Not a bad watch but I wouldn’t pay retail for it.

Thank you all for your response. I’m not saying that I’m going to buy this watch now but I’m only want to hear some opinions.

That’s what I’m thinking as well. Do you think this is good value for money? In this watch you are getting a lot of complications (similar to PP) in Tudor price range.

My 2 cents -
NO WAY!!! PP Movements are the Rolls Royce and go for $80-200K as a dress watch. Montblanc makes great pens - Their watches are at best a Toyota Corolla. You should stick with Cartier if you have to buy a Richmond Group watch…… |

I have a similar Montblanc and it’s a nice watch and I got it slightly used for a substantial discount.
I have recently bought a Longines although it’s more expensive, I feel it is worth it - The quality of the case details and dial in particular. Longines can be had at great prices used and new with plenty of great complications so this would be my choice at that sort of price range and they have a huge range. Looks like it's trying to be a patek annual calender. Good looking watch. I wonder how thick it is...

Take a look at Frederique Constant Manufacture series. You’ll get a whole lot more interesting watch at the same price. Of course, in the end it’ll come down to details and you should buy what pleases you, but the previous commentators raised good points about value. Try to find a steep discount and (as always with watches) be mentally prepared to lose money if you decide to sell later on.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk[/QUOTE] This one looks great. I really enjoying the details on the dial.

I do not think so, I think Montblanc knows what their watches are worth. They have plenty of watches in the $40 range, and even much more expensive than that.
Based on this, I think this watch is rather overpriced, and precisely because of the Montblanc text on the dial. Therefore, I would rather look at this model as if it didn't have this logo on it, then no one would pay $500 for it. |
