Now based off this thread (and the other taupe strap color thread) this model has jumped towards the top of my list for consideration for my next purchase. The price being below retail doesn't hurt either.

With everyone raving about the dial though, am I missing something? Is taupe a bit of a misnomer? In most pictures the dial looks to be more of a smoked gray rather than taupe/khaki. On the other hand the stock strap is truly what I'd consider taupe.

In my mind taupe is a very boring, dated color - like regular old khaki pants. But this dial seems to not fit that description. Someone described the combination with the taupe strap as military, which seems appropriate to me. I would almost certainly switch immediately to the black strap and leave it.

Can someone comment on the true color of the dial itself, isolated from the strap? Would you call it taupe if AP hadn't done so first?

Whatever that color is... Taupe me guesses?

Honestly though in person it's not boring at all but not as loud as some real color options... Hits the sweetspot

When I have the watch on the taupe strap, my eyes are drawn to the stunning dial. When I have the black strap on, my eyes are drawn to the black bezel and the black sub dials for some reason. So, I prefer the taupe strap.

I agree with you about the confusing color characterization. To me, beige is the initial impression I get; however, I can also see a smokey gray. Interestingly, when the taupe strap is on, it blends nicely with the dial. The textile looking light gray strap in the other thread also appears to blend nicely with dial. I guess this dynamism is what distinguishes this piece so much.

I absolutely love the taupe. I tried it on last month at AP House London and fell in love. I hope I get the call one day.

I went through this same debate myself, and I spent much of last year going back and forth about which I really wanted. For me, that back and forth ended the moment I tried on the grey dial Ti, the taupe steel, and the blue dial Ti (which was a close second for me) at the NYC Boutique this past November.
The muted, earthy color scheme (along with the model’s size and weight) of the taupe along with the black ceramics checked all the boxes for me. I don’t have anything else like it, and that resonated with me. The grey dial Ti seemed a little more subdued to me, though it’s more monochrome look would definitely be more versatile.
The blue was *very* nice, but I really wanted the ceramic bezel.
I officially made my decision with the boutique then and there: Taupe it was.

Quite to my surprise I got a text yesterday afternoon saying my Taupe 43mm has arrived. Unfortunately we played phone tag and I didn’t receive the payment link until this morning, so they will ship it out on Monday as I was told AP doesn’t ship over the weekend.
My weekend is crazy busy, or else my lack of patience would have me immediately hopping a flight to go grab it, lol.

4 months. Went to the NYC boutique in Nov ‘21 to look at the different ROO 43’s they had, expressed interest in the Taupe, received it in March ‘22.

i have expressed interest in the grey dial. But i cant get the taupe out of my head. How heavy is the steel version? I've unfortunately never tried on a ROO in steel. I currently have a Jumbo.

I keep wondering if i switch my interest from grey to taupe, but i cant make up my mind!

I would stay grey. Personally I just love to blue sub dials. The grey with the blue strap is gorgeous.

I think the taupe is stunning. I own a grey Ti44 which i am wearing today. If I got a taupe the Ti44 would probably stay on the winder.

I have the Ti43 and had the same predicament choosing between taupe and grey, ultimately I thought the grey was easier to wear being a bit more understated and the blue sub-dials are the same blue as my 15202 (as far as I can tell!), which works so well. I think the taupe dial is very special, but came down to personal preference.

I went with the gray Ti too. I love it and can wear it more places as its a bit more subtle than some of the other 43's. Quality and movement also seems a step ahead of the old ROO (which were already fantastic).

The Taupe is 168 grams but is more comfortable (to me) than the 26238TI (the green ROO titanium, also rubber strap) which is 128 grams.

I think the taupe is very stunning and different than so many others.
I was hoping to get my hands on one of the new divers but have just been offered the stainless black dial version of this watch. It is the first one I am being offered and I am afraid if I say no, it will be the last. Sorry if this is hi-jacking, did not think it was worthy of its own thread.

You've been offered the ss black diver by the AP Boutique? Isn't it discontinued?

Tried on both. Both spectacular. I have ordered the titanium one, i like the feeding more and the color scheme is more understated.

Currently having the same debate in my head. I think the taupe dial is the most wow, but I also worry it,k be a difficult colour to match with clothing etc. I typically wear white, blue, or blacks so should the taupe dial work well with this?

The ti on the other hand feels slightly more reserved and possibly a more versatile watch.

Very difficult because they are both stunning in their own ways!

Don't forget that the Taupe comes with the Black Rubber strap as well.....plus you can add other colours (and materials) too.

Nice pickup! Which dial color is the 15510 - I thought you got a grey one, but it looks greenish in this picture? In either case, a very nice pair!

Why are you wearing 2 watches here?

I'd be worried the ROO crown would graze the RO bezel

Had the chance to try all steel and titanium versions. I was sure at the start I'd go for the taupe. In the end I just felt the grey/blue titanium was better for me considering the colors of the clothes I mostly wear (blue, grey, white), the weight of the titanium version, the fact it has full lume and the taupe doesn't and the fact the hour markets really pop. Having said that they're all beautiful.

Both look great. Have only seen the taupe in person at a boutique. Hope to see the grey this week. Lean that way but only because I tend to wear more blues and greys over anything else.

I went to the boutique last week to get another look at the ROO 43mm. Tried on the taupe again from the display (grey not available). Just fell in love with the complexity of the dial in different lighting conditions. Was offered one and pulled the trigger. Who knows, might add the grey someday too!
