16710 Z on ebay

Took a flyer that this is 100% legit. I would really appreciate feedback on if I got a good deal and the real deal.

December 2007 is fine for a Z9 serial (forget about "z = 2006", no serial letter matches a single year), but the seller having no prior sales would worry me.

Welcome to the Forum!
My only concern is that the seller has only 1 feedback but Paypal is your friend with this purchase..

PayPal is certainly my friend on this one. My first action when it comes in is to take it to my AD and have them check it out. That is something I have never done, can anyone that has, can you give me an idea what to expect? Should I offer to pay for the verification? Will they produce a letter or anything?

Thanks!! A Newbie as you can guess.

A " too good to be true" price from a new seller with just 2 feedbacks? Sorry, but this is a scam. The watch in the photos is certainly legit but the photos are probably stolen. The seller isn't going to ship you anything or maybe a rock if you're lucky! If you haven't paid yet, don't. If you have, you will eventually get your money back but it will probably take a couple weeks and some effort on your part. Good luck!

OP has already bought the item, I presume paid.
The watch to me looks genuine, it has papers, that we can easily verify if match the watch.

Id seller is a scam, the OP is protected via eBay, if he pays by PayPal

Would you call this a price to good to be true?

Yes, Sir. It is indeed a trip back in time to buy a new old stock for that price..

DO NOT PAY FOR THIS WATCH. 2 feedback. Alarm bells should be ringing.

I'm sure I've seen those photo's on ebay before on a prior sale.

After a long journey a box full of paper and nothing else showed up. Claim with PayPal filed. Seller not responding.

New to all of this. Does Pay Pal refund money if the watch is bogus or something?

If you sent the seller $5000 and he sent you a box full of paper, I think it's safe to assume he's not going to be responding.

I'd just like to know if you got your $ back from PayPal. It's been over a month now.

As of today (March 7) I have not gotten my money back, but to be clear I used Paypal Credit not a payment so it is an outstanding balance on my credit account that has yet to be cleared.

After a month of PayPal waiting on a response from the seller, I was contacted last Saturday by Paypal asking me to file a case with the iC3 (Internet Crime) which I did and sent PayPal a copy of. They have come back and said they are still reviewing, but I am growing thin on patience. I understand they have a protocol to follow, but it is time to resolve this. Once this is resolved, I will update.

Good luck with your case. Once, ten years ago, a race shop scammed me on some reflashed ECUs - took payment but never delivered. eBay & PP credited me all the money left in the scammers account - about 75% of what I PayPal'd the guy.

Since you used credit card, have you alerted them that the transaction was fraudulent? Be sure to read your PP buyer protection terms carefully - sometimes these cases get tricky. For example, PP did not require me to file a police report...but that was before eBay sold PP.

I finally received word this morning that PayPal has resolved this in my favor and credited me all the funds back. Good lesson learned. I got great advice from someone on this board that you should buy the seller, not the watch. True words.

Wow, that was a huge gamble with an almost predictable outcome!
I bet the hassle and headache of going trough an uncertain process with PP was quite stressful.
Glad you got your money back though...
