A couple of weeks ago I read on the tele-type screen in the elevator going up to my office that luxury watchmakers were expecting a rather prosperous year for watch sales in 2014.

My next door neighbor's cousin's best friend's little sister knows a guy who works with a guy whose frat brother's step-mom's first husband's uncle knows a guy who used to have a roommate that worked for an AD - back in the 90's. And according to him, it's true. There is a price increase in the pipeline for 2014.

It doesn't get any more reliable than that. It really doesn't.

Don't worry guys. It's only for Australia, because our prices are so much lower than other countries and it wasn't fair.

Obviously at some point they will go up, so eventually one of these threads will be correct and the OP of that thread will look like a genius.

I can see a price increase in Canada. The price difference is too much now because of the falling CAD. I was as one AD and they were quoting me CAD7300 out the door for a SubC date cash deal. That is USD6550 for a BNIB 116610!

I have been told that no notice is given to the AD's. It just happens and they must remark the current inventory.

Given the track record of those who enjoy posting rumors and lies in this forum their guess will be no better than that of a "weather"man

And replace it with what ?

This would make no sense as the Hulk is still in demand at my local Ad they have a small list for them.

Probably the best response from an AD: My friend, the manager at my local retailer, when asked about price increase says, "who knows..."

Didn't happen, it's a sales tactic. Prices will increase eventually, but they would not tell a sales rep when and how much it would be before it happens.
I heard the same thing in SF...they said I had a week to decide

So when the AD tells me that the prices are increasing next week and I should buy whatever they have because it's the last one in stock, they're lying to me? I never would have guessed.

What if every single Rolex AD in the world decided that they will all raise the price for 5% all together at the same time, without Rolex HQ agreement?

Have you thought about that? huh?

:p

I love the way Rolex always tell 1 random AD and a couple of street vendors :-)

Good news is though, I asked my pet cat when I for home from work if it was true and he meowed . . . . . . . TWICE!! I'm taking that as a no!
