How about a Christopher Ward watch? They make solid divers around 1k. I bought one for my son and it's a reasonable quality beater.

The problem arises when you start to question spending multi thousands when for just under $200.00 you get a robust, reliable, ISO rated dive watch.

Sure but i wouldnt wear any of these even for free, prefer not to wear anything, i love having a high horology dive watch made perfectly, super comfort and that nobody recognizes, mine is the AP ceramic diver, just an awesome watch, had a few rolex and panerai, the comfort is awful on them, but to each his own i guess

Awesome work and well said. You can't go wrong with Seiko divers.

I wouldn't wear an AP if one was given to me. Ugly, bland and cheap looking with zero character.

To each his own, I guess.

I would look at some boutique divers. Outstanding quality.

Here is my Obris Morgan Explorer II.

It is tough to make the Deepsea look small, but the G-Shock does it

I would take a close look at the Sinn line. Great, robust watches.

True beater, but still looks good and give you that feeling of a well made quality watch... you won't find better than a Seiko Diver. Great choice

I have a modified SKX009

and a SRP787.
