Just checked mine - I never realised that the letters are aligned with the minute markers

I agree. The LEC on mine (and in your pic) shows the crown as a very obvious series of dots. The OP's LEC has a smooth looking crown.

Also the profile looks wrong. The view from the crown side shows a larger gap between the bezel and the crystal than mine. And the crystal appears to be sitting slightly higher too.

So OP - are you worried that you might have bought a fake, or are you roadtesting the quality of your work in front of a critical audience?

It's fake, and the lack of response from the OP proves it.
It has many tells that I picked up on, but I think I will keep them to myself. This is a good reminder of BUYER BEWARE! |

Anyone notice what I would describe as average person photos except for suddenly, a much nicer, professional style lame shot?
Not consistent at all with being taken by same person. Bet not the same watch. |

I think op wants to sell a fake and wanted to test here if he can get away. So OP you got a decent fake. You might get away with it b

You point is? My watch is fake?
Count for like 4 seconds, then divide by 4 to get 8.

Yep. Start counting when the second hand hits 20 minute mark. After 3 secs, there are clear 24 ticks. No more, no less.

Yikes!
Threads like this are a little scary. It seems highly probable this is a fake, and perhaps we have aided the perpetrators with an assessment of their work. The OP has one post (this one). Very suspicious. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk while driving down the interstate at 75 mph

If this is in fact a replica, its about the best one Ive ever seen. Would fool 99.9% of people, that's for sure.

I am perplexed by this theory that someone would be interested in the opinions of amateur watch enthusiasts when reverse engineering a watch, when all they need to do is look at a real watch |

Another check is turning the crown to set the time. If you turn it clockwise the time too should turn clockwise (yes sounds logical but ETA movements are the reverse).

If that is a fake, it's the best I've ever seen.
I also see this myth about the LEC being difficult to see or photograph. This is not true. Look for it at the right angle in good light and it immediately pops out. The pictures in this thread are taken from close enough that the LEC would be easy to photograph. |

If it's fake it's just been made since the serial number isn't showing up anywhere on the web.
The fake watch forum keeps track of all the new versions that are as close to the real thing as they produce. They "look" really close but the movement is the give away; although, most people buy them for themselves (for reasons I can only try to understand. I want a Patek 5167 or 5164 but not going to buy a replica. I'll just save my money ;-) so they don't pop up on here too often as watches being passed off as OEM. It's criminal any way you look at it though and they are getting really good at passing off many brands as the real thing. |

The truth is in the movement. OP is gone and I believe testing the waters. As long as we have the serial, that may help in the future if it pops up for sale.
