Sky Dweller Oyster > Jubilee - Exchange is the only option?

I ordered a Jubilee bracelet for my stainless steel Sky Dweller from Bucherer, who charged me $1700. All good, told me it would be 5-8 weeks. But then a week later they've come back to tell me that actually no, they can't do that; the only option is to send the whole watch back to Rolex and have the bracelet exchanged, and I won't get the Oyster back. They can't just order the part and put it on for me.

What in the world is going on here? Has anyone had any luck getting a spare bracelet? I'd rather not have to send the whole watch back for god knows how long, and buy the bracelet at full freight with a $0 trade in value for my existing bracelet. And I kind of liked the idea of being able to flip between the Oyster and the Jubilee.

If you've been able to get around this somehow let me know... bonus points for a referral to an AD that can take the order!

Mayors / Watches of Switzerland is where i added the Jubilee. Yes they need to see it and know the SN, but all good. Same price you were quoted.

Did you get the Jubilee *in addition to* the Oyster, or did they make you give them the Oyster back?

I would think since Mayors or WoS are independent of Rolex USA, they wouldn't keep your oyster in exchange for a jubilee. I could be wrong, as I've never done this swap before.

Yes. The SkyD here is a 'first release' when the SS first became available, and only on Oyster. Now have both

Yes, I had my Sky Dweller supplied on jubilee (Blue Dial) an ordered the oyster bracelet straight away. Came in about 6-8 weeks if I remember rightly. Only wore the SD on oyster once and don't like so changed it back. The cost was round £1400 in the UK. Hope that helps but Rolex just sent the bracelet to the AD.

Put your watch on a strap, then send it in.

No chance I would pay full retail and then give back my property

Good idea. Wonder if Rolex would follow through and do the sale if the watch arrived on a nato?

I actually asked what they would do if I told them I wore it on strap, and was told RSC would only put the originally specified Oyster bracelet on it unless they were getting an oyster bracelet back. No Jubilee unless they get their exchange.

Same with mine, wasn’t a problem getting the jubilee.

Get your money back, and figure out a different plan. That’s ridiculous that you should be expected to send the original back, then be charge$d full price, for the other one. I wouldn’t even consider it.

There's been a number of threads on this topic.

Some ADs have been able to order the alternate bracelet (without the exchange) others not. Some people have had luck with the RSC others not.

My SD came in oyster but I was able to order the jubilee bracelet through my AD last year as they have Rolex parts account.

I've heard that the policy has changed and this can be no longer be done.

True.
I was told they could not do it.
Then told they could.
Then told they could not.
Then told they could, so I bought one.
Now I’m hearing they won’t.
It’s Rolex’s world and we are just living in it.

I asked for a jubilee for my Sprite and was told that Rolex won't let you just order an extra bracelet for a newly released model, even if you own the correct watch, for a couple of years after it comes out. I figured it was some of the usual AD BS. It's pretty ridiculous.

I ordered a jubilee for my SkyD are year ago, maybe longer. Nothing… when I ask about it they say tell me it’s been ordered and they are waiting to hear. I’ve kind of given up on getting it to be honest. I have the feeling something like the OP described is going on with Rolex. At least they didn’t ask for money in advance.

I ordered a Jubilee for my DJ41. I was told by the AD that you can order for classic models but for professional models only after 5 years once the warranty has lapsed.

I picked one up maybe a little over a year ago. No problem, called AD, picked up bracelets a month or so later.

I ordered my Skydweller Jubilee bracelet from a Rolex dealer with a parts account. It only took a few weeks. I was lucky.

Your bio says New Jersey, can I ask which dealer? I’m in Manhattan

I can only speak from a UK perspective.

I had my TT Sky Dweller swapped from Oyster to Jubilee by my AD and I kept the Oyster. I could have traded the Oyster in for a lower cost to change.

When I was considering getting a 116610 bracelet for my 126710BLRO the UK RSC told me that if I brought the Sub Date in on a strap they would fit a SS bracelet if I had the necessary documentation to prove it was my watch.

I'm curious how much does the TT jubilee for SkyDweller cost in the UK?

I have the opposite and considering getting an Oyster TT for my SkyD.

If your AD has a parts account it can be a bit easier but generally it’s difficult to get a second bracelet for most models. My dad was able to get one for his DJ41 but I’ve been told no asking for a jubilee for my Pepsi and oyster for my SkyDweller.

So, you want an Oyster for your SkyDweller and can't get one, eh? And I want a Jubilee for my SkyDweller and can't get one, eh? Might we have a solvable problem here?

I was able to get a second bracelet for both a SS and TT, kept the original for both. Maybe a year ago-ish

Just buy 2 watches...

Then you don't even need to swap the bracelet... Win/Win.

I bought a SkyD on oyster, ordered a jubilee and got it in about a week (maybe 1.5 weeks?). No exchange. You should not need to exchange. That's crazy.
