Timing my 16700

My 16700 has been back from RUSA NY service for a week. When I sent it in through my AD, I requested that it be regulated to + 2 seconds per day. I set the watch when I received it back and checked it each day; I kid you not, it's running + 1 sec. for the WEEK. That's just crazy excellent!

My experience with RUSA is that if you give them a parameter for regulation, they'll attempt to comply. I know specs are -4 to + 6 per day, but those extremes are unacceptable to me. The AD put my request on the service form directly, and voila. By honoring a specific regulation request from the outset, Rolex eliminates certain service returns (and corresponding labor costs) from unhappy WIS like us.

Nah, I'm just joshin' with ya, Mickey. Those specs are fine, but if you don't ask, you don't get. I asked, and got more than I expected.

That's great performance; consider yourself fortunate to have had an outcome like that. Frankly, such exactitude is skill + quality. Not all routine service work results in such accuracy.

I'm so glad I don't pay attention to this level. I think it would ruin the enjoyment for me.

Actually, it's kind of fun to measure the accuracy from time to time. I've only done it each day the past week to see how RUSA did in relation to my request. Other than returning from service, I typically will run a one week measurement every six months just for sh*ts and giggles. It's fun to obsess at times.

My watch came back from RSC in New York and it runs about 1 second slow per day...to me that's excellent for a mechanical watch!!!

Yeah, but it will gain time or lose time when you wear it though, right?

I'm betting it was more "luck" than precision regulation.

Well, we can agree to disagree.

Yeah. I'd think the tech would say...

Like any regulation that tests the beat rate if its correct on machine it don't aways mean it will be the same on wrist. While you can set it to say +2 seconds on machine because all our wearing habits are different there will be differences. But for any mechanical watch to run close or inside the COSC thats fine for me.

Some of you guys are confusing COSC testing specs with Rolex specs..

Rolex does not have a -4/+6 standard... that's COSC testing criteria, an independent organization....

Rolex uses a -1/+5 target, but you can certainly expect any Rolex to perform better..

Personally, if any of mine are as much as 5 seconds fast, I have it regulated.. I don't care what COSC is..

My new watch (11/7/11) is -5 secs per day, improves to -4 if i lay it face up at night. When i send the watch for its first service i will ask them to try to improve it.
