Ever regret buying an Omega?

I've owned 2 Omega watches and parted ways with both. The first automatic watch I ever purchaed was a Rolex Datejust (3135 movement) and its reliability and accuracy made it difficult for me to accept anything less. I've been entertaining purchasing another Omega since I like Omegas aesthetically and hope that the third time is a charm.

It all depends on which specific Omega models you're considering, compared to what you owned before. Every watch company, Rolex included, makes a wide variety of models with varying degrees of appeal. I have several Omegas, both new and vintage, and one of them (my Seamaster Pro Diver) is considerably more accurate than my Submariner. Don't misunderstand, I wouldn't think of parting with my Rolex - but neither would I get rid of any of my Omegas. They're fantastic.

I really like the Omega brand and have owned quiet a few over the years. They just don't stick around very long. Good quality and some innovative movements and case designs. The Speedmaster line-up on metal does not work for me as I can not get the bracelet to work for me. Rolex spoiled me. I will buy again I am sure and the new Speedmaster for SIHH in orange and black with the racing dial on leather looks nice. Also, never pay retail as they are discounted significantly by the TS and others. If you do pay close to retail you will get your feelings hurt when you try to sell/trade it.

My first Omega was the ceramic seamaster. Even though it's a beautiful piece, I just didn't love it. Sold it and bought the Moonwatch. After a few weeks, I knew that manual winding wasn't for me.

A friend recommend the older sword hand Seamaster. Found the Electric blue version and knew I had found the one.

Regret buying my POC 9300. It was my first nice watch, and I liked it initially however over time the size of the watch is too big. I never wear it today.

I regret buying the 2220.80 Seamaster back in 2007. Got it brand new from an AD with a deep discount which was cool. Enjoyed the watch but felt at the time it was a compromise because I was so passionate about getting my first Rolex. 3 years later I did just that and leading up to this I just got really bored of the Seamaster at the time. It's crazy because I always seemed to appreciate the Chronograph version more (which I now own and wear daily). I lost about 50% of what I paid for the 2220.80 but the guy it went to got a great watch in excellent shape and was very happy. My Rolex purchase made up for that though because I bought pre-owned in excellent shape for a fair price at the time. So long story short yes, I regret not being able to wait a bit longer and get the watch I really wanted from the get go. Looking back on it now though it's nice to know I've owned it and moved onto the right one for me.

I have 5 Omega pieces in my collection and I love all of them. My all time favorite is the Seamaster 2220.80.

There was one specific Omega model I had purchased sight unseen. Pictures made me think it was going to be perfect on my wrist. However, once it arrived, I quickly realized this specific watch just wasn't my preference. Ended up flipping it and bought something else. No question on quality and craftsmanship, just my subjective preferences on what I want to wear. That's when I learned to always try the watch on in person and never buy just off of photos.

Getting back to the more broad question by the OP: Regret buying Omega in general? Nope, never. I own several and absolutely love them!

There's only been 1 regret.....and that was the 8500 PO....I bought it without trying it also like Bushido.....terrible mistake and sold the watch after wearing it once/having it 2-3 days. Best decision of my life, would never have worn that.....worth the loss early imo. I have a lot of Omega pieces and that's been the only regret. Even my original electric blue Blake SMP titanium is still with me now (my 1st luxury watch) and it runs like a champ.

I really don't like the 600m cases with the He valve. I like the AquaTerra line a lot. If the PO GMT bezel was integrated onto the AT150, Omega would have a serious contender to the Rolex GMT IIC. Behind my Speedy, the GMT is my next most worn watch in rotation.

Bought and sold, Rolex, Omega, Patek. Always had regrets but as I bought new ones, I always enjoy my new purchase.

Had some issues in the past with a Seamaster 300 Peter Blake and sold it, however always regret this one. At that time, Omega fixed the issue but I had to fight to have it under guarantee which I did not really appreciate.

I regret buying my CK2998 38mm is too small for me. I prefer the 42mm. I might be flipping it soon

I was under the impression that CK2998 was a 40mm. That watch doesn't look small at all in any way. If anything, a 42mm could look slightly big on you!

I never regret a purchase but I often regret selling! I'm really liking the Seamaster Pro ceramic on the older 1610/930 bracelet. And at roughly 1/2 the msrp of a new 116610LN there are definitely no regrets!

Nope. I've owned many Omegas and flipped a lot of them but that was to fund something I wanted more, not because I didn't like them or felt like they were any less of a watch than a Rolex. Currently own 3 - A blue dial AT 38.5mm, a 42mm SM 300 MC, and a Speedmaster Professional 3573.50. Love them all and wear them the most out of any in my collection except maybe the 116610LN Submariner.

Omegas are great watches. I have owned 2 in the past one Seamaster Chrono and the 9300 Planet Ocean Chrono. The latter in particular i enjoyed the most and quite miss it some times.

Omega makes great watches. Attention to detail is always there and it seems they follow the market trends a lot quicker than Rolex for example. Rolex came out with their larger case watches way late, and quickly reverted. Omega tends to offer several sizes in a new release and may discontinue a slow mover. The planet ocean is a good example. Available in 45.5 and 42mm right out of the gate.

I think they have crept into Rolex territory price-wise but in general they are a great value.

If anything that watch is too big for you. Way too big.

And it only comes in one size.
