Good customer service - free sawg

I titled this good customer service, but it does lean toward great. The deal was done and I was already very happy. Giving something to a customer after he has left the store is really impressive. Is this normal from a Rolex AD?

I got a vmail from my local AD (I recently purchased my first Rolex, a 116660) and he said he had something for me. I went in and he had the Rolex pocket knife and leather note pad holder for me. Both are very nice and I have been looking a new pocket size note pad - this one fits the 3”x5” post-it notes I like to keep handy. A really nice gesture and it was appreciated, especially since they gave me a discount on the Deepsea w/out my having to ask.

Is this a knife thread??? I thought we don't discuss this here. Your AD must not be a TRF member.

I bought six watches from my local AD and never got more than a handshake. I think the sales people turn over too fast so I never had the same person.

DavidSW makes the AD experience null and void.

It's always great to get some swag. I've never got more than magazines so you did well. It's also amazing the impact it has on a customer for something the AD most likely gets for free.
Great score!

I do feel fortunate - I'm sure a lot of it was timing. They just got back from Bezel World and I'm a new customer. But you are right - it has a huge impact.

Great gifts. I'm always amazed at all the miscellanea produced by Rolex to indirectly advertise the brand.

I walked into an AD the other day, asked him to take a look at my sub and tell me if everything was ok with it. The second I mentioned I bought it online he went from being averagely nice to a pompous jackass.

I was warned before that that would happen, but had to see it with my own eyes.

No ADs for me, ever.

Send it to whomever you bought it from online and ask them to check it out for you. Problem solved.

I wanted to check it for authenticity, not malfunctioning. In fact the seller I bought from encouraged checking it by a third party.

Nice. I'm lucky in that I have a great AD with virtually no turnover - at least the five years I've been dealing with them.

They provide a fair discount and no tax since they are across the state line and courier the watch to me.

When I purchased my SubC ND they provided me with a cool miniature anchor. Thought that was pretty cool.

But more importantly they provide great service, a fair price and each time I walk in a gracious greeting.

Send it to another grey market dealer to authenticate it. Problem solved.

I've never experienced anything but pushiness and salivation at anticipated profits from an AD. You have a great AD there. That is a very cool knife!

I had it appraised for insurance purposes and the appraiser said everything checked out, but being OCD I wanted to check with someone else. Another grey market dealer is not a bad idea, though. I'm relatively close to Orlando, I might stop by DavidSW's one day.
