Seeking to identify...

Hi,
I'm new here and to forums in general. I was given this watch and have been trying to find out what it is ever since. It belonged to my aunt it is very petite, appears to be rose gold. So far from googling I think I have determined that it is vintage, probably rose gold, a Rolex Precision Swiss made watch. It keeps time but doesn't tick.

I don't know if this an accepted type of post here, asking for help in identification but if it is I would love to know more about this watch or how to find out more about it.

Thanks for any help

It has to tick....

Early ladies cocktail watches are not really identifiable more than that.. Look inside to ensure it is a Rolex movement and properly stamped in the caseback..

Thank you for the reply and the information.

I am embarrassed to admit that when I turned the fan off I could hear the faintest of ticks, of course you are right.

I will do as you suggest, or at least ask someone who knows what they are doing to take off the back and check it out.

So what year(s) would "early" cocktail watch fall into?

And does anyone know what the figures are in the stamp on the side of case between 12:00 and 1:00?

Thanks again

The serial number would indicate 1952 or 1962, as they restarted the serial numbers in between that time.
Based on the dial I would guess 1962.
The mark on the case is the Helvetia hallmark(head), indicating that the case is made of 18k gold.

I am not sure you can date the watch by the serial, I was under the assumption that the lists were for oyster cases only which this is not.
