I have always liked vintage rolexes. Something about the way a true tool watch looks is pretty amazing. So that being said, I have come across a 5513 that is local and would like your guys opinion on it.
Here's the movement. The ad. states that he bracelet is not orginal, but there are no pictures of it. So my questions to you guys are. First, is this a genuine Rolex by the pictures? Second, given the condition, how much would this watch be worth. I appreciate all of you guys input and thanks in advance. |

Shes pretty, original twin lock crown, glossy Gilt dial, bracelet appears fake from endlinks but overall a great piece.
Price is what anyones willing to pay, but google 1965 glossy gilt 5513 if you want to find some previous examples, they don't come cheap, and this dial is pretty clean |

The bracelet does not really bother me that much because I would probably put the watch on a Nato strap to begin with. My biggest concern is whether or not it's real.

Yeah, it's 1,34 serial number. Another question that I forgot to ask is who could service this watch? Would I send it back to Rolex? I've heard horror stories about them replacing dials and hands and that's not what I want. I like the look of a worn watch. Thanks again for answering my questions.

Looks like a decent example. It's on a rivet braclet 7206 I believe
For service Riki at Timecare Inc in Florida or ABC Watch Werks are two highly recommended here. |

Not positive but bracelet looks like it may be an aftermarket 7206. Links look "thick" which is common tell. Also looks like 455 end links and a 7206 from this era would most likely have fixed 80 end links. Hard to tell in the pics. Pics of the clasp would help. Dial and hands look good.

Thanks, I'm sure it probably needs to be looked over because it's looks to me that it has never been serviced. I'm still having a hard time figuring out what it's worth though, all that I can find are more rare editions like tropical dials and bart Simpson dials that have sold. I just don't want to get ripped off.

For some perspective, Jacek (who is as respected as they get) at HQ Hamilton, has a '66 Sub with a spotty dial and no bracelet for $9,500

Looks good with Jacek providing market price example.
The 7206 , rivet bracelet is indeed fake. You can tell by the 3rd picture, a genuine example would have folded middle links. Factor that into the price as a genuine 7206 can fetch north of $1000

The seller did not set a price. It was a best offer kinda deal. I just wanted to get a baseline starting price so I didn't get in over my head as there is so many different styles of vintage Rolexes. The seller infomed me its sold though.
