Anyone watching/visiting Barrett-Jackson?

Started watching the evening coverage Tuesday night. Some very cool cars being auctioned off....some at surprisingly low prices.

It almost makes me cry for the owners when you see the odd random NR car go for 15k after the owner just did a $50,000 restoration.

I always enjoy watching the deal night though. Makes me want to take on more projects

Yesterday afternoon was filled with lost of value, especially on trucks, people drop $50-75k on a resto and get $30-35k out of it

I was too busy feeling bad for them.

They hit just over half of what they were hoping for. Two young guys. Beautiful car too. Really an incredible example with all matching serial numbers and documentation to prove it.

Been watching off and on all week. Will be watching today/tonight. Seems the market has been all over the place lately.

Addicted to the car auctions, Mecum and BJ. Although /I'm sure the commentators have cheat sheets they do know an awful lot about these cars. I have to admit I prefer BJ to Mecum. Still don't care for the fast talking auctioneers but at least the BJ runners aren't so high pressure with the bidders and sellers. I actually prefer the slower paced RM auctions for that reason. You can actually understand the auctioneer when he talks and they're a bit more gentlemanly about the whole thing.

The Steven Tyler car was over the top. It was like a Busby Berkeley musical, just lacking the chorus line.

Love Barrett-Jackson and went 10 years ago. Need to be smart about putting high restoration money in cars that will not make money in the end. If it's a labor of love, well then, fine.

The BJ auctions are definitely entertaining. I would NEVER sell a high end car at No Reserve...the downside is too high a risk.

That being said, if you have the cash to BUY a classic at No Reserve, that's a whole other proposition!

Watching all week long as I do every Scottsdale.

Really sad auctioneer Spanky Assitar is not there. He has a lot of personality and is fun to listen too. New auctioneer is dull.
