16800 lume

No glow for my matte 16800. Not a flicker.
Would this be correct for a 6.6m serial?

What would make you think a 35 YO 16800 would glow? The half life of tritium has come nearly three times already.

You'd be hardpressed to find any vintage tritium Rolex dials nowadays that give off any glow. The ones that still do have nowhere near the intensity of luminova or superlumi dials.......

It is correct for it not to glow, in fact, I would be concerned if it DID glow. Most tritium dialed sport models do not glow today, with exception to certain batches of tritium from the mid to late 1960's that were quite potent.

Beautiful 16800 btw, the best of both worlds.

My 16800 is a bit younger than yours (circa 1982; 7.2 mil. serial number). Alas, "no lights on" here.

Definitely from the "certain batches" era (this is a 1,3xx,xxx from '66) after a few seconds under a lightbulb

Yes, the date wheel. This is the pic I'm sending the seller. Hopefully a regular service should rectify.

Thanks Michael. Unsure whether it has been polished in the past but lugs are FAT....
