Need help with a query about a 1977 air king 5500

Just bought a 1977 air king 5500. What a beautiful simple understated elegant watch. I love it!
However.... It has the long square tipped hour and minute hand that totally cover the minute markers... nearly all others have the pointed 'arrow' tipped hands (which I actually prefer to be honest). Also got the black dial with half seconds markers which im sure is the original. Has anyone seen one like this before? Have the original hands been replaced?? Has my watch been restored or repaired in anyway???
I like to think not as im sure the acrylic sapphire and dial are the original so why just have hands replaced? As u can tell I don't have original papers but it is a genuine movement and case etc...
anyone...?
