Bought a little Coach inc in Dec for $31.50 that has been doing pretty well. But yes, for the most part I'm an investor, not a trader. Everyone knows "buy low sell high, but lots dump on the way down and buy when it's high.

smart idea. people try to trade with machines. very difficult.

south florida and nyc real estate is a better bet than the stock market in any event.

My investment strategy didn't change at all during this latest roller coaster ride. But certainly glad to see my YTD gain now than compared to what it was 2 weeks ago.......

Shoot, I still have like $30k losses that I'm writing of $3k each year.

Going to cash out some mutual funds that are up and just park the money for a while. I'll leave the IRAs as is since it's still going to be in there a good 30 years. The funds are up a good amount since I bought them a couple years ago and I haven't been paying attention to markets much lately.

How old are you ?! You have 30 years until you withdraw anything from an IRA ?? If I were you, and I'm not, I wouldn't cash out anything and park it. I'd starting maxing out your IRA, 401K, dumping money back into your mutual funds. Have 6 months cash reserve in a box at your bank incase.

I did 15% for over 15 years in a 401K that the company matched dollar for dollar up to 6% of my pay. Best thing I ever did was that. When they stopped doing that I quit. Then Also maxed out a Roth every year. Plus an IRA max match.

Bought as much silver as I could years ago when it was 8.00 summer of 1993. No gold. Should have sold it in Spring 2011 but didn't. And I probably won't until I'm in a walker or it gets to 50 again.

My opinions and good luck

32. No 401k where I work. I always find my IRA as well as my wife's. I have well over 6 months cash in the bank, been saving about 35% for a while now. I just get nervous with all the stuff going on in the world and seems like the market is ready for correction. I'm the kind of guy that checks the market everyday to see where I'm at lol. If I stopped that I probably would t be stressed as much hahaha

What's IRA match max?
This year I'm going to do traditional IRA to save some taxes. I also have a HSA that I contribute to for more tax savings

Good catch. I meant to say max out your IRA which is 5,500, unless your 50 years old I think then you can do 6,500 which is 1000 more as a catch up
