Not sure I would like the smoky taste of peat, so I like Scotch with citrus notes.
Glenmorangie 10 Original is very good, while the Glenmorangie Signet is out of this world. Cannot beat combination of Scotch and a nice Cuban cigar. |

I like a peaty scotch every now and again, and Laphroig is my go to. Thank you for posting the photos, looks like you had perfect weather.

Nice tour, tnx.
I've heard I will grow to like the peat flavor, but I'm still not there. Guess I need to drink more! |

Can't beat the Peat!
Great trip report! Hopefully I'll get a chance to fit in an Islay distillery tour one day. For many years I stuck to Bowmore, Laphroaig, and (especially) Lagavulin. Have recently discovered Ardbeg 10 and and am very keen on its peppery notes and absolutely massive smokey finish. Glorious stuff, Single Malt Whiskey. Seems that there's a huge boom/bubble in the industry though and I'm not very keen on the current demand-driven trend for NAS bottlings.

I've never tried it. Usually I buy Glenlivet or Glenfiddich.
