Well its not the most handsome watch made I agree but It outperforms every diving watch ever built which I think is something to admire just a bit. I love Rolex's but i'm not going to be ignorant and naive and not give a watch credit when it deserves it.

It's almost 3cm thick!

IMHO, that watch is sort of the Deep sea Special.

Made just to be the baddest without note to is someone actually going to wear it?

I would never be caught with that monstrosity, why not just use that 3" x 3" dive computer ?

No it doesn't.

Rolex made a watch 50 years ago that went down to 11km. (10.900m)

I know that the actual depth 20,000 Feet is 100% impractical but so is 12,000ft for the dssd. Actually any divers watch that can go below 2500ft is impractical since the deepest ANY person has ever dived EVER is 2000ft.

it was made more for marketing than anything else. kind of like making the fastest car possible despite costs so you can hype up your lower end mass production models. still pretty damn amazing as I've seen it shot with a gun and damn near taken to the bring of destruction by all sorts of means.

OK, so after you set of that half a stick of dynamite in your hand, your watch will be OK.

That watch is soo poorly advertised, in a very childish and amateur manner. It's ridiculous.

It's been discussed before, and every time it's a contest between Rolex and this watch.

IHO, this watch has over 15.000 feet to go if it wants to beat Rolex.

There was a high-end diver's watch with liquid silicone with a name that was the number of meters of the deepest known part of all the oceans, and given that being liquid filled makes it pressure resistant, it could go much, much deeper if there were any deeper to go. I forget the brand. Anyone remember this watch? I believe it came out more than ten years ago, but my point is why would anyone be impressed with this Swiss Military one considering this idea of how deep a watch can go has already been maxed out for a long time. Also, this one is not cheap. No offense, but there's nothing to get excited about here.

I prefer the new Disney Mickey Mouse watch. Beautiful Gold sprayed aluminum case with a classic 3 jewel Donald Duck automatic movement. Great for all divers, water resistance of about 6 centimeters. MSRP $7.99 but you can probably get a NIB on TRF for $3.55 if your lucky.

Rumors are going around about a 2% price increase so get it while you can! Also I think they had the new version of the watch at BaselWorld with the new copper band with hollow end links. Cant wait!

Have heard of it before and there were a couple of threads about this piece previously.
Have to admit it is an achievement to be able to go down that deep, but why? Why would you do that without a dive PC?
Another thing though... Why spend all these time and money and not bothered with an in-house movement?!? Why go half-way?!?

Basically saying mine is bigger than yours, even the DSSD depth rating will never be used by man or future man,but perhaps superman might find it useful.

That's a little too far. It's 35840ft to be exact. In the Challenger Deep, found in the southern part of the Marianas Trench.

I find it funny that no one cared about making the deepest rated watch until rolex had one.

That's it. Thanks. Description here:

http://www.uniquewatchguide.com/bell...ax-dive-watch/

11,100 meters converts to 36,500 feet, which covers the deepest possible dive.

See when you buy a very vast car that can go say 200mph, sure thats stupid because you legally cant do that, but if you found a straight away long enough you could go those speeds if you really wanted to, or you could bring the car to a drag-strip or a track to reach those speeds legally. If you have a watch that can dive deeper than 10000ft sure you can go dive 500 feet maybe even more. But no human being on this planet has ever dove deeper than 3500ft at the most since you will die. So in the end I think making a diving watch only matters to 5000 feet max after that it should be all about LOOKS quality durability and the movement
