Which arm do you wear your watch on?
I always thought the left arm was the "watch arm", but I've seen several people wearing their watches on their right arm. Which arm should you wear your watch on? (I know it's up to everyone to decide for themselves. I'm asking to know what's proper, like wearing your wedding band on your right hand's ring finger)

i did this poll a couple of months ago too I am right handed and wera my watch on the left. I agree your watch should always be on the opposite wrist from your writing wrist.

Wear it wherever you want; but explain something please, those of you who wear the watch on the right wrist, and particularly those who wear it on the right and are right handed: how do you access the controls? I mean, I realize that an accurate automatic watch may not need much controlling, but just putting the crown up my sleeve makes me nervous. Winding and setting with my left hand isn't on my operations menu.
In addition, if your watch is on your dominant side, it would seem to be exposed to far more hazard. Even if the watch is tough enough to withstand the environment, many objects in my environment are not strong enough to withstand the Rolex. Just curious.

Same here. RIGHT handed, wear on my LEFT wrist, so I don't have to take off my watch when adjusting different timezones on my GMT.

My mother taught me when I was a little kid that I should wear it on my left. I am right handed.

Regarding Greg's post, I don't set or wind the watch while I'm wearing it - I get it up and running, strap it on, then don't fiddle with the crown while it's on. - SO I suppose that's how it would work on my right wrist...
But, I wear my watches on my left wrist - and I am a form of ambidextrous (I write and eat with my left hand, and throw with my right hand). Curiously, sometimes I try to wear them on the right hand while I'm doing something that could scratch the watch with my left hand, and they don't fit - I guess my right wrist is thicker than my left. |
