Awesome score on Tribute to Mont Blanc FP

When I was back in the UK earlier this month, I went home for the weekend to see my mum and my mates. While in town, I poked my head into my MB dealer (not a boutique but an AD) and they had this beauty on sale. Normal price £755 (US$1,100) but it was up for £377.5 (US$550). It had been in stock for a while and they wanted rid.

I wasn't looking for a FP but I have the Tribute ball pen so it was rude not to. They also had a carbon Starwalker on 50% off too. I was tempted but I already have six Starwalkers so I gave that one a miss (in other words, Mrs Van D. made me leave it ).

Very nice…very nice indeed!!!

Looking at your photos has made me now itch for one of those 'white colored writing gadgets'……

What size nib did you purchase with your new FP???
What color ink are you planning to use first???
Enjoy and have fun writing with your new pen…it's a beauty!!!

I like this FP, but it is just not my style.

It is totally beautiful. I simply do not like touching metal when I write.

I want you to enjoy it in the BEST of health!!!

It is LOVELY!

Thanks Leo at al for your kind words

Best be quick if you want one as they've now been discontinued. That's how I got so lucky as they wanted rid of mine to replace it in the case with something else.

I didn't purchase a nib separately, I'm going to stick with the one that came with. I don't know if you've noticed in the pictures but the main body of the nib is engraved with the Mont Blanc mountain range. Fabulous attention to detail

I'm not entirely sure if I'm going to use it yet but will most likely go with blue ink as a change from the ubiquitous black.

What a steal !

Huge congrats. That's so different.

I've just ordered a 149 FP in Platinum and was chuffed to get 10% off. You've got a killer deal.

For info: If anyone wants a 149 FP in yellow gold, The Pen Shop in the UK are doing 20% off at mo !

Many thanks, Richard

I totally get your point about touching metal. I use a MB Starwalker fine liner to make notes on the sides and highlight corrections/typos on my printed reports (I read paper better than on screen) and often find myself holding the pen higher up the shaft to avoid holding the metal.

You are welcome…..as a suggestion check out some of the other ink colors that are available…whether the ink is from MontBlanc or another company. As for ink colors, from MontBlanc, I have enjoyed over the past few years are Bordeaux(discontinued), Oyster Gray and Toffee Brown!!!

Take care…..Leo

A great piece I own myself. In fact, about a half year ago that was the last pen I bought to complete my set. I now have the fountain pen, rollerball and the ballpoint versions of the tribute to the montblanc. I absolutly love them. Partly cause they have special meaning to me.

Real lovely piece!!
