Exactly, the buyer has a lot of power once purchased via Pay Pal, all burden of proof will fall upon the seller and if he can't prove it's legit he's screwed.

I believe, it may stay up.
I got no real insight how eBay makes their decision to pull a listing, but I suspect, that this seller has shown equal evidence to us, that his watch is authentic!
Its our claims against his two "experts" who have handled the watch.

Well if he does sell the watch and the buyer ascertains it's fake the seller better come up with something better than "I took it to two retail stores" as his evidence.

Hmmm...maybe a bidding war ought to erupt*

I recall a long time ago---a driver who was selling a race car that we all knew was illegal. We tried to get him to disclose that fact. He wouldn't. IIRC some wags amongst the other drivers in that car class bid his up to $1 million or so. He never tried that again

* disclaimer: some people have pointed out that this would be fake bidding but I have 2 experts who say it is real fun...I of course will let the eventual buyer figure that out.

That would be funny is one of us bid and won it and refused to pay. I may do it.

Reported again, and I pointed out the sellers false claims of authentication, thereby proving he knows what he has and intends to defraud someone.

Ebay seems to be a bit slow on this one.

My take, is that they are taking the sellers view versus ours.

IMHO eBay and the seller are in a form of a "Mexican Standoff".
Neither will proceed nor retreat until the end of the auction and the prospective buyer makes it possible to resolve it.
As someone said earlier, a PayPal claim will probably be the tool to start that process.

Surprised eBay actually took it down everything I've ever reported hasn't. Must have been due to so many people reporting the same item. Either way good to see it has come down.
