USPS Says "Delivered" but.....

No package!!!!!

The guy who sent it to me said "It was insured and when insured a signature is required.", but I wasn't home and I didn't obviously sign for anything. Here is what it says online with the tracking (x's and 9's to hide my address).

Does the USPS "Delivered" just mean attempted delivery? Also, there was no note in my mail box or anything about the delivery.

Slightly worried.......

This is kind of creeping me out! Notify usps asap! It could have been intercepted by someone! Do you live in an apartment where anyone could have signed for it?

I live in a very quite subdivision. Had loads of packages shipped here and usually just left on the doorstop. Have no idea.

I can't notify USPS just now, the close a 7:30 CST.

I had a similar experience.
Since I was not home, the mailman came the next day (I took the day off!) and got the package.
Maybe try to be there when he/she delivers.
Wish you the best.

Go on line and request.....

....a copy of the signature and you may be able to identify who signed for it.

Sincerely, Stan.

You probably should ask how much it was insured for. They will leave a package on your doorstep if it wasn't insured for a high enough dollar amount, or if it wasn't insured at all..........I'd double check to make sure!

Once, I shipped a large package and the recipient couldn't find it and filed a missing item claim with insurance. He later found it on his back doorstep.

However, I had a cell phone shipped to me, marked as "delivered," but obviously not sent to my house (verified by cameras). I filed a paypal dispute, who denied, then a chargeback. A few weeks later I found out UPS dropped the package off at my (empty) neighbor's house a few doors down.

Exactly. I believe if it's insured for over $50-$75 it needs a signature.

Also call the city delivery office of your local post office. Talk to the supervisor and tell them you would like to talk to the person who delivered your mail yesterday. Then ask them what they did with the package. They can also find out who excatly delivered it.

I don't know how the signature upon delivery feature works with USPS PRIORITY, but with EXPRESS it will show WHO signed for it when you track it online.

Very odd, indeed.

Please let us know how it turns out... This is scary stuff!

The postmen [and women] on my area always seem to go the extra mile. Call the local office and they'll do everything they can.
Good luck,

My input isn't much use, but I agree to check things out with the post office. Last year my husband ordered a nice Taylor acoustic guitar.... I was sitting on my front porch and a man drove up and brought it to me, still in the box. It had been left on his porch and he lived nearly a mile away. Obviously, the address was correct on the box... we never understood why it was left with no one signing for it. Thank goodness for the guy's honesty.

Success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I got it. I called USPS this morning and they said it had been delivered. I asked who signed and they said it doesn't require a signature. Then I tell them it does as it is insured for a high dollar amount and a signature IS required. She said that is at the discretion of the delivery man/woman.

I then go to my local Post Office. Tell them the story and they told me they'll look up the number online. I was like, you know it is just going to tell you it was delivered!!!!!!! I said I wanted to talk to whomever delivered it if possible. They then directed me to the local distribution center. I rang the bell, told them my story and gave them a paper will all the details, numbers, addresses, etc. They told me to wait.

15 minutes later they come back and said it had never been delivered and they just got the package this morning. I was like that is not what it says online. They said I was mistaken. I then provided them with a printout I had brought from USPS.com indicating that it was "Delivered" to my address on 5/14 at 2:03PM. They quickly apologized saying they don't know what happened. I didn't care at that point. Just very happy.

Hmmmmm. FEDEX envelope. Note to self, just use them next time!!!!

and then my camera ran out of memory!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, I'll post some good pics later. If you have been reading my other posts you might know I just ordered a watch (non-Rolex).

When my watch was delivered, I had to sign for it but wasn't home. It did show as being delivered even though I didn't get it.

priority mail doesn't need signature and even though delivery confirmation,
only the signature confirmation need a signature

I live in an apt., so normally I just ask them to ship to my company
as I know, Fedex and UPS need a signature for a business delivery and
they don't need one for residental delivery

I don't like to use USPS cause I couldn't track the package unless I use express mail
