Help with Daytona Black Dial F Series , no box or papers

A friend of a friend is offering me a used Daytona F series with a black dial. The watch has signs of wear with a few scratches here and there. It has no box or papers but I have already checked it out at an AD.

My question is obvious - what is a fair price? I don't think I will be keeping it forever as I prefer a white dial but would like to experience the Daytona watch before I eventually buy a new white one in a few years.

Thanks for your help.

I'd offer US$6000. Then see what he says.

start at 7500 like kanger said and tell him it is because there is no box and papers, or shoot him 6000, what do you have to loose.

I'm relatively new to the hobby... what was the MSRP for an F series? Also, what year model would this watch be?

I think F will put you around 2003. Not sure of the MSRP back then though.

If you get it in low 7's your doing really really well. A TT sold back in DEC 2010 for 8100 on the forum here.

The MSRP (iirc) was high 7ks, though they demanded much more often times.
