Do all LV Subs come with no holes?

As I search, it appears like even the early ones are "no holes" subs. Is this the case or just coincidences in the ads I'm seeing?

Yes - there was an early publicity shot issued by Rolex which showed the watch with lug holes but the first examples released didn't have them - rumour has it that it was a deliberate strategy to confuse the fakers.

I believe there was a 'no lug hole' LV sub shown prior to release.
I don't think there were any 'no lug hole' LV subs sold.
The only 'no lug hole' sub is the current 14060M sub.

I'm slow on the keyboard Woody.

Yes--no lug holes on any LV's sold--just a photo showing one with them that was never released as stated above.

I believe all SUB LVs are F serials and onwards ... so they should all have NO HOLES cases and LEC at 6'0 clock .... If either is missing, then it is a DOLEX!

While the very first LV's released were Y serials (true anniversary models, but debatable due to the "oval" dial found in Y and F serials), none had lug holes. The promotional photo has been addressed, but the Y/F serial issue has not.

That's exactly the thread I was looking for. Best thread on LV's I have ever read.

The Y was the first released--I had one--sold it like a fool only to buy another recently from Greg/Mosco--an M with no engraved reahuat--one of the few released that way.

New Member question

I'm new and I am still learning all of the lingo/abreviations. I just got my first Rolex, an LV, last month at an AD -- Kirk's Freeport in Grand Cayman, so I'm pretty sure its real. It is a Z series. I have noticed from many of the pictures on the related threads that there is engraving on the inside of the "ring" around the face. Mine does not have this. Is this correct?

I read the info posted on the link from "mike" yesterday. It is brilliant! However, I am still a bit confused.

Thanks for any advice.

As far as I know there was never any LVS with lug hole cases. All the LVS I know of have no hole cases. 4000 feet.

Welcome to TRF, Michael!

The rehaut engraving began mid M series, so your Z series would be correct not to have it.
