I'd disagree there.

Not that I'm advocating crime by any means, though, I'd have to say I see far, far more sad cases strolling around London in suits earning an 'honest' income who use it do disguise thier shortcomings.

How many criminals do you actually know personally? As opposed to reading, watching, hearing about an undesirable segment of people who aren't straight-laced.

Age for me. I finally hit that age for me. I have never liked, wanted to own, would wear any gold watch either all gold or partially gold. I now am thinking about adding a bluesy to the collection. They just look so awesome.

All in how you wear it I guess.

Great point Trevor!

I'm twice over 35 and I wear my white gold d-d. The yellow gold is too flashy and attracts unwanted attention (my opinion).

An all gold watch and bracelet is a bit too much for me. Although not popular with many these days, I do like this TT look.

Solid gold Rolex....classy.
Are some of the people that wear them douchy or classy......both!
It's not the watch that defines the cast.

Watches are not flashy. People can be flashy.

Some of you guys must really judge people walking around with a ginormas Invicta's on. Or gold Michael Kors watches. If some are that subconscious about a gold watch but want to wear one then buy a Patek. Absolutely no one will know what that is except for WIS.

A colored gold (meaning not white or platinum) watch on anyone is something that quite a few people, watch people or not will notice. I'll admit that I do have a go to heuristic for people who wear all yellow gold pieces, and it's not the most positive (doesn't mean negative, but I'm not assuming they are going to be a great person either). However, I'm never someone to immediately take that opinion as gospel by any means and always let someones actions speak for them more than just what's on their wrist. But some of you guys who think that's not something that people think about when they see you are a little naive. Some of this goes for rolex in general IMHO.

I dont think people notice gold watches as much as everyone thinks.
There are a lot of Michael Kors watches out there that go by unnoticed.

What i think people do notice however, is the bracelet. At least I do from a mile away.
Take the day date bracelet as an example.
Thats how i can tell what kind of watch it is.

I think people notice it, but dismiss it much faster when on a strap, so I think you're right there.

Until I really started picking up interest in watches I NEVER noticed what people had on their wrist. I never looked.

Now I most certainly noticed what type of car they were driving because that's hard not to see.

I wear my Yellow DD2 to work in a suit, out for dinner in smart, popping to the shops in a tracksuit.
Yes typically its a dress watch, but I love it and want to wear it. Not just when I'm dressed smart.
Puts a smile on my face every time I look at it.

I think they're fantastic and i'd love to own a full gold watch.

However my limiting factor certainly isn't whether it's 'douchey or classy'

A watch is not douchy. The person either is or is not.

Yes this is probably correct I think that a lot of people not all are a bit douche and loud people that own all gold rolexs. Now saying that I am a very under the radar kind of person and I've been going back and forth on getting a solid gold GMT love the watch but just feel it's too loud for me.
Saying that I think it would be fun to have that one fuck off loud piece and can see me probably getting one in the future
