Harley Davidson Sub
Today i spotted a very interesting Sub at the servo, it was a Harley Davidson Sub with the Harley Logo at 6 with a gold/brown bezel and dial.(i'm sure someone will know the correct colour) The owner said he won it when he purchased his Harley about 18 mths ago. Anyone own one or have pics and info?
I'm in the motorcycle industry involved with Harley and Ducati so i find this watch very appealing , any info would be much appreciated. Or maybe the watch is just a fake and was never produced! Johnny |

Harley Davidson logo watches are made by Bulova.
These HD "Rolex" watches go for about $149.00

Sorry to say it is a fake....
I have a few friends that have are Harley Owners who would have those in a heartbeat if they were real.

Does a Harley watch automatically leak oil or is that a built-in "feature" to work in tandem with the bike?

Any engine that has use and wear can develop problems, but with proper maintenance and repair will run perfectly and not leak oil. Another point about older Harley's, they had a chain oiler that would actually drip oil on the chain to lubricate it, a lot of uninformed people thought they leaked oil, they did not...

Maybe yours was worked on by a non AD? Even a Rolex will leak if you install a rubber band instead of an approved seal. |

Right you are Al.
Also the Panhead I just sold had a primary chain oiler. There is a drain tube on the inner primary that lets the oil out. My 83 Shovel and 85 Evolution do not leak at all. The inner primary seal around the tranny mainshaft was a bugger to finally seal on my Superglide. And somebody up above mentioned 4 speeds. If you maintain them too they will be bullet proof and leak free. Nice to see some H-D fans.

I had the bike looked at for that particular problem by the Harley AD in Malaga ( south of Spain ) and they had about 3 goes at it with no satisfactory result . Only when I was introduced to a Harley fanatic and collector that he solved the problem for me at a fraction of the cost . |

Same goes with basically any craft or trade these days. Seems all claim to be an Investor or salesman these days.

You're absolutely right, Nikos. Since the late 70's early 80's, I think, the world has been flooded with IT people and the trades/craftsman fell way behind.

Just poppin in to say I have two Harleys with over 80,000 miles between the two. No oil leaks yet ! Wouldn't care if they did. I'd still ride one.
I do like the Harley logo dial on that watch. |
