The triplok is rated to diving depth with the crown open or closed. Just like the Daytona is rated to it's maximum depth with the pushers screwed in or out.

And really great stuff. Have a colleague who has a friend who knows a guy like yourself, him working at oil riggs somewhere. What's your area and loco? You guys work for about 4-6 months a year and then (have to) "rest", is that correct? |

Interesting thread to read! Very cool.
Awesome to think what technology allows we Humans today! I would like to ask Aquanaut about humidity level in his environment. My concern would be to think that to open the crown in higer pressure than surface produced the effect of pushing the crown in till pressures inside watch and inside diving chamber equalized, meant also that some high humidity could enter the watch, and make some damage to its movement. If so, a check by an authorized service would be recomended, I guess. Thank you for sharing your experience Aquanaut! Almost in real time! Best cordial regards, Abel.

Hey, can I ask a stupid question (out of ignorance and curiosity)?
As the whole point is to minimize / eliminate repeated decompression cycles, I understand the entire habitat is pressurized, right? How do you keep the ipad from cracking (special case?)? Like I said, this can be a really stupid question but I was just thinking about it ...

That´s not an stupid question, but an interesting one to make. I guess that, as long as any piece of equipment is not contained in a waterproof case, and it is not submerged in any liquid (e.g. sea water), any device can be taken inside of the chamber, because internal pressure is raised in the chamber, but this pressure is increased in same level outside the device (I Pad) and inside the I Pad as well. You can even take a non-waterproof watch, inside the chamber, and as long as it has a vent (e.g. the crown stem hole) which can alow pressure to build inside case, and then when the chamber is raised and pressure lowered, to vent pressure inside case again, the pressures will be equalized, and the I Pad and the non-waterproof watch will suffer no damages. Aquanaut will surely confirm my guess. Cordial regards, Abel.

I cannot believe that no one has asked why you are using the crown to wind it instead of letting it wind automatically on your wrist like it was designed to do?
Awesome thread though. |
