Icon20 4 Rolex watches that you have to own....

I've had the first 3, still got the SD!
Currently got the 1680 and 1675 too, as per my thing on the left...

To me Seadweller and Sub are too similar to need both unless money is no object...
I agree with Sub/GMT...
I also like a nice datejust as a dressier option without a numbered bezel...
I can take or leave Daytona...I know it's "the one", but not my personal taste....

Let's say we lived in dream/fantasy land...

16710 Pepsi (this is the one I have so I'll stick with it)

5512 with a faded bezel that looks grey, similar to this
http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_me...r9ro1_1280.png

Paul Newman Daytona (obviously, who wouldn't want one?)

1655 Panna Explorer (don't know what it is about that cream dial...it's just lovely)

You can't take away the SD, my man - it's the best watch Rolex has ever made. I currently have a 1665 and a 16600 and feel that it may not be enough :)

The Daytona has never really done it for me, although I've had a couple in the past. I may at some time get another GMT but it would have to have an independent hour hand this time around, and in the meantime I'm happy with my Explorer II. The surprise for me has actually been the DJII, which is an amazing watch.

I been lucky enough to had all the earlier ones, I would add a vintage Daytona to the list,
which I owned for ten years.

Of the watches I've purchased & sold, only 2 remain in my collection that will forever stay in my collection - my V serial SD and M serial Pepsi.

Bought and sold the 16610, 16710, 16600.
Never owned a Daytona, don't like chronographs.
Currently own Sub 114060, 14060M.
I'm thinking about getting an Explorer I, 114270, before the price increase again.

Submariner 16610 > 5513
GMT 16710 > 16700
Sea Dweller 16600 > the 5513 will do
Daytona any reference will do...> I had it once...no more

A DJ with WG bezel and grey / blue / black dial would do for me.

I would replace the Daytona with an Explorer I.

My 4 choices for a representative Rolex collection would be ...

1. Either Sub or GMT
2. Daytona
3. DD
4. Expy or DJ

The V Serial SD seems to have attracted a grail like following... As has the M Serial GMT 16710 with the 3186 movement.... Anyone with these two well done!

For me it would be:

116200
114270
14060M
16710BLRO

I'm leaning toward the Pepsi, but I don't have one yet.

I've got my three that I'm very happy with :
14060 Sub
16570 Exp II
16710 Pepsi

The only other Rolexes that I'd like to have are an Explorer, and perhaps a Milgauss.
Love the SD look, and I've been tempted, but I prefer thinner and lighter for comfort, so the sub is the diver of choice for me.

2 Sports Watches:
SS Daytona (116520)
Classic Explorer (114270 or 14270)

1 Beater:
Submariner (any reference)
or
Datejust (any reference but for me 116200 or 16200)

1 Dress Watch:
Day-Date (any reference but I'd like a 118205 or 118206)

I like a lot of Rolex watches but if I had to choose 4 only I'd go with the following (all vintage, of course)!

Day-Date
GMT
Sea-Dweller
Cellini Prince
