Is my Rolex real?

Hi, i'm new here. I'm also here to find out if this Rolex that my dad gave me is real or not.
Here are a couple photos i took.
If it's fake, how can you tell?

I could probably have helped for any watch BUT a Cellini! LOL
I do like the case back...one of the most common comments I get from friends when they look at a Rolex is "Is the back supposed to be plain" and/or "I would have thought it would have something on the back"?

Pop the caseback and see if it has a Rolex battery.

Yeah, I've been doing extensive amounts of research on these. Nothing leads me to into believing my watch is real nor fake.
I called a specialist today and he said it sounds real, but he'll do more research and get back to me.

Just pop the caseback like I said above and examine the battery.

AD?

I went to a pawn shop earlier and it took him no more than 5 seconds to declare it was fake. I figured he didnt care enough to examine it so I left.

Cellini 5241 looks like yours with a different dial (can't find yours in Mcat 2011/12).

But why "1588" on the case back ?

AD stands for "Authorized Dealer" Like maybe a Ben Bridge, or something similar in your area.

I don't know cellini at all... Sure would be nice if it turned out to be a real platty (platinum) though. Good luck

Yeah, I spoke with a Rolex specialist over the phone today. I gave him the details and he said it sounds real, but he'll do some more research. fingers are crossed.

I checked all the master catalgs I have, and didn't found your particular dial for genuine 5241/6.

Unfortunately, there's little chance yours is real 5241.

Only 2 available dials for Cellinium 5241 every year between 2002 and 2012 are:

The only way is to take it into a Rolex dealer. They will examine it and give you their honest opinion. I could not describe my Sub to someone over the phone and expect them to say yeah or neigh.

looking at your photo I think I can see the clasp (buckle) on the Twelve side of the strap. It should be on the other strap which is on the six side of the case. It also looks like a standard buckle not a depolyment type clasp.
