No way. As someone who really considered this and weighed it out while the Platona is gorgeous simply put it's one watch, has a basic movement and there is a 10k version of it available. The 40th and RG are a perfect two. Keep those and get a SS daytona.

I love the Platona and it's my grail, but see that you have a platinum DD-II, I hate to say no....
Maybe the RG ROO plus IWC SS Regulateur / Omega Sea Master Professional / Rolex TT DateJust for the Platona.

I agree. I like precious metal Rolexes but the Platinum Daytona is in a price territory that's hard (for me) to justify. Besides, I think the novelty of its weight may wear off after a while - and possibly even become an annoyance. My WG Pepsi is plenty heavy.... I couldn't imagine something even beefier hanging off my wrist.

100% agree! Maybe part with something else and get a SS Daytona.

I would keep the Jumbo but sell the other one and find extra funds for the Platona.

If they no longer sing to you and the platona does then go for it you can easily reacquire a 44RG or a 15202.

That said, I would not.

Thanks for all the input so far. I still love the 2 APs. Perhaps the 44mm is slightly too big as I feel like I am slowly moving away from the oversized watch phase. However, every time I think about trading it selling it I take it out and the rise gold and ceramic and polishing is just amazing.

As for the platona, I love the color combination. I love the weight. It's very versatile. Sporty yet can wear with suit. The 44mm is strictly a weekend watch along with my 5980, YG GMT, DSSD

Brilliant idea! I should trade my Rolex for a Casio, too.

I don't know. Have a feeling the jumbo might be tougher down the road

Same post as I gave in the Rolex section, I love the jumbo not a big fan of the ROO series, so I would move that on, but I would go a nice Newman Daytona dial YG Daytona ahead of a Platinum in any case.......

I would take a Rolex over AP 95% of the time, that trade falls in the 5%. Don't do it.

Nope. If you really want the platona then I would sell the Skydweller and GMT. I would never part with the Jumbo.

That and the fact that you're gonna take a huge hit on resale, at least if you do it get the platona through a grey dealer, the retail in France is 60K, euros of course, and I saw you can get some at around 45K BNIB, maybe even better, but you will still take a hit on resale but not as bad as if from AD… But still wouldn't do the trade
