If you could only have one Rolex?
Just curious, if you could only have one Rolex, which one would you buy, new or used doesn't matter, which model and features? To keep it simple, let's assume a max budget of $8k-9k.

Simple a 1930-40s Rolex Prince doctor style dial plain S.Steel but would except a silver or TT if price was right.

LV Sub with Black insert is the best all around Rolex Out there. I prefer the look of the 1680, but I would need the dial to glow and installing Luminova on the 1680 would kill the value.

It would have to be a vintage, interesting Rolex model from the
past, a bit larger in diameter but not an absolute must, made during the Wilsdorf years and definately before the "accountants" take over with their..."Mickey Mouse" micro-economics, directives, rules, regulations and all the rest of the BS that they introduced. How about this..? |

A white faced Daytona would be really nice, but I'm not sure I'd be any happier than with my GMT IIc, which to me is the ultimate Rolex.

At the moment, 16710 with oyster, jubilee and 3 bezel inserts.
Bluesy's a fine "only Rolex." A 116713 would be too. Really, ANY Rolex is a great only watch!

very interesting. far more variety than I ever expected. I was also surprised at how few tt blues, I always thought that was the number one sought after rolex. at least that's what some of the sales folks say.
didn't realize the daytona was such a hot item too. |
