That's awesome news! Hopefully it's as easy as removing links with the included toolkit.

And congrats to all of the new members or members-to-be in the Czapek family. My honeymoon period has not yet come to a close with the Antarctique. Such a versatile watch that you can wear anywhere. I've had a couple of glancing blows against doorways, etc. with no scratches to the case. It really helps that the crystal protrudes a couple millimeters higher than the bezel.

This is my experience as well. I have been wearing my Antarctique for almost a year now and it has been very resilient to scratches and dings. Its like a boxer that rolls well with the punches. I suppose its the lack of polished surfaces on the case.

Wow! I’ve been waiting for this but totally missed it in the Monochrome announcement. I really hope it’s true that current owners will get it for free (and hope their parts supply issues subside so I can actually get it!).

Congratulations to those that grabbed the Monochrome edition…you won’t be disappointed.

That's the sign of a celebrated customer-focussed company

Great info, and it feels fantastic to finally join the Czapek family.

Cant wait to get home and unwrap the Fratello... so I guess that one wouldn't have the new clasp yet

Czapek

I am curious as to how it presents on the wrist. Is it similar to the AP or the VC?

I loved the AP when I tried it on a few years back but fell in love with the way the VC presented once on my wrist.

If I go with the Czapec then the Daytona is no longer an option for me.

Rlrock, there are many videos on YouTube, wrist shots galore :)

The Daytona will always be around in one form or another, yet Czapek timepieces are very rare indeed.

Thanks to everyone for their help and making the decision so tempting!

The Monochrome white dial is actually growing on me after staring at the hi-res photos. I might be a fan of it after all ha!

I think it’s fantastic, and second only to the Terre Adelie Secret Alloy (might be a bit biased). Were it not for the 12 it would be very very close.

They all look great.. I agree the 12 ruins it a bit for me. Not a show stopper but given the choice prefer the double markers

The dials are bespoke and you can choose the indices instead of that 12 HR marker. Just gotta tell them and they deliver.

I was lucky enough to also get one of the Monochrome Whites (MW), and I actually emailed Robin asking if I could do the “double sword” 12 instead of the Arabics; he said the dials were all already completed and this was not an option.

The double indices is certainly a “cleaner” look, but I’m ok with the 12; I think it’ll become a part of Czapek’s brand identity, and on this watch, the Arabics add a sporty touch to a sporty watch.

I also opted for the full silver seconds hand and the gray rubber strap. What did my fellow MW’s choose???

Haven't been asked about second hand, yet I'm thinking red tip. Hmmmm, my Muse / wife says all silver and she is Mrs. Right. I'd love orange tip IF they had an orange rubber strap.

(more discussion with my Muse ensued)

Well, she says red tip reminds her of... Long story short is, she says the red second-hand tip reminds her of all the stuff I i modify and use Ferrari red paint so I can see it easier / calibration marks. ........ So that's why no red tip seconds hand.

As for straps, grey rubber, white rubber, black rubber, blue rubber, and black leather with red stitching. Would looooove an orange rubber strap.

ADDED: Just chose all-steel second hand. Monochrome has to see if they can also arrange the extra straps as others also want a few 'extras'.

I thought the double marker was better than the 12 in pictures…but in the metal the 12 is growing on me!
It’s such a simple yet beautiful dial and the 12 just gives it a little extra life. And as JPMick commented, it may become part of the Czapek identity.
What a gorgeous watch in ALL configurations!

Can anyone post a picture of the rubber strap clasp? I do like how Czapek rubber straps include the integrated lugs a la AP.

on the fence on this - can any one help to swing me over?

should i wait for the glacier/salmon dial next yr? or just go for the deep blue passage antarctique now, seeing the manu date is only sep 2022… still pretty far away

how would the finish compare to the holy trinity, rolex and grand seiko?

I'd say go for whichever dial you prefer. Time passes quick...

Finish is on par with the holy trinity, far above Rolex. I only have vintage GS, but I tried on a few moderns recently and my Czapek felt better.

Yes. When I saw the EWC listing, the first I’d seen, it was one of those “really” moments.

When the vintage Rolex guys (and gals) were all bemoaning the rise and rise and then exponential rise in prices I can say I wasn’t so empathetic. What goes around….

I have handled both. I like the salmon. I think the blue is probably easier to wear more often. The salmon isn’t so much salmon. More… sand. Wasn’t quite enough pink in it. My advice if you want us to get one sooner. They’re a bit behind but making moves to catch up. Better to get in line.

The green is not really me. I almost would have preferred the colors to have been reversed. I have been having a hard time wearing it. The orange hand is the way to go but I don’t know how long it will stick around with that green.

Is it very green? Cos in the original shots it looked more teal, but in wrist shots it is very very green...

The flique texture on the dial means it is very different colors depending on the angle with lighting. It’s vert dynamic. It can go from very light almost teal to darker green. It’s a neat affect and I’m just not usually a green lover.

Salmon is allegedly sold out due to my contact at Czapek.
I got one for delivery next like.. Aprilish or so.
Glad to hear you like it. I ordered it without having seen it (I only saw the dark blue one)
Greetings
