Love the One You're With

Fellow TRFers,

Recently, I started up a website with another TRF member, Conan435 (Neil). We're old Air Force friends with a passion for watches. The website is dedicated to watches that are built to stand the test of time. Naturally, Rolex fits that mantra. We'll be featuring reviews, historical anecdotes, and breakdowns of durable technologies.

One of our maiden posts, written by Neil, is a personal story about a Rolex. We'd like to share it with you and get your thoughts. Here's the link:

http://www.woundforlife.com/2014/04/...ne-youre-with/

If have the opportunity, please browse our other articles and share your thoughts about the site. We'd love any critique, positive or negative.

Thanks, everyone!

Cool - thanks for sharing.

I like the post about the GMT 16710 that belonged to his father.

Nice article, now lets hope his brother doesn't start getting it polished or replacing parts
Thanks for sharing and best of luck with the site

Thanks! Yeah, Neil will have to keep an eye on him. I know he's already made it clear that any attempt to sell the GMT will result in serious consequences.

Thanks a lot! Glad to hear you'll keep reading. We intend on putting out 2-3 articles per week until we're able to increase the volume. It's quite an upfront effort getting it off the ground while working full time jobs -- especially when you figure readership is on the low side in the beginning.

Nice little piece. As a publishing professional, I would just say lose the two exclamation marks and drop the 'of' after 'myriad'.

Thanks for the feedback. I definitely try to limit exclamation marks, but I'll let one or two slip by for opinion pieces. ;-)

I expected someone to push back on "myriad of"! You're totally correct in its original usage, but it has enveloped both adjective AND noun in modern times. The fact that you caught it is awesome.
