1000 dollar watch
if someone gave you $1000 to spend on a watch, what would you buy? I would probably go to the used market and get an omega. But what if you had to buy a new one, what would u choose?

I would buy the Hamilton Jazzmaster H32646555. It's $1,695.00 but, a friend of mine and an AD in Washington DC gives me 30% off, so it will cost me $1,186.50. The watch is beautiful, the movement is the 7753 and you can admire the beauty of it through the exibition back. I thought the case was solid red gold, it looks that good. It is certainly on my wish list for this year.

This. Ocean7 LM 2. A little over $800.00 new with factory warrantee. I'd rather not risk a $1,000 gray Seamaster. Unless it's Costco with its unlimited guarantee. But they sell Omegas over the $1,000 range.

I 'd buy a Debaufre Airforce Orange with $565.
This is the 44-mm Orange Airforce watch using the Unitas hand-wind movement with a black stainless steel case and a hypnotizing black dial with orange markers. The leather strap is 24-mm. The leather strap is attached with a special screw removable with a special tool. The watch has a case-back window allowing to see the Swiss Unitas Movement.

1+ on the Jazzmaster. And if it's SS you'll get some change as well!

I recently did such a thing... I chose this one.
I chose it because of it's extreme depth rating (1000m), excellent legibility and lume, thin profile, midrange price and surprisingly light weight (108g). Had if for a few months now and I'm happy with it. It serves as my daily "beater"...

Used: if I could find one, maybe an Omega Seamaster GMT white-dial, or a Tag Carerra or Targa chrono.
If I had to go new, then most likely an Oris diver with an integrated rubber strap.

AutoZilla...
I have the 300m EcoZilla, but this auto is hot... Both are 48mm not including the crown assembly. Mine with the stock rubber, and also with custom nato adapters. |
