Icon11 Tritium "burned" lume plots

Hello everyone,

Could tritium "burn" or cause a certain patina around it? Saw this watch (Day-Date from 1996) with some curious white spots uneven around the lume plots.

We all know radium is much stronger and burns some dials (pictures posted also as examples) but could tritium cause this also? In 1996? Or could it be man-made?

Thank you!

Regards!!

Not from radiation, but I have seen damage around tritium lume plots. Mainly on blue dials, though.

Radium can burn but not tritium - that is something else in the application process

I see. Thought it could also burn. But it's clear is a lower radiation so it is out of the ecuation. Thank you!

The one on the left looks like crystilized residue damage from a cyanoacrylate adhesive (superglue).
