The Daytona is overrated and overpriced. No way is it worth £7950.

If the Daytona is overpriced, then I don't know what makes the Sub/GMT/EXP worth their asking prices. The Daytona's movement is phenomenal. I'd wager that it costs Rolex significantly more (way more) to produce a Daytona than a Sub-C, but the MSRP difference is only around $4K?

Does the chronograph have a vertical clutch?

The Daytona's movement uses a column-wheel. There aren't many 28,800 bhp chronographs out there with 3-day power reserves.
Compared to the module-based movement in the ultra expensive Royal Oaks, the Daytona is superior.

Is this something that's generally agreed upon? I've always heard nothing but praises for AP chronographs while hearing mixed reviews about the Daytona.

The Royal Oak chronograph uses the Frederic Piguet calibre 1185, which, as far as I am aware, is an integrated chronograph movement.

The very fact that you are comparing it with AP is testament to it's quality. |

Hi KILYUNG
seams you know a lots about watches, could you help me out? I bought a Rolex Daytona on june 2013 from an AD, when I run the serial number I find out the date of production is 2008. is this normal, or I consider this new watch as 5 years old? Thank-you |

Yes, don't take it personal, I'd be happy to have one, but its just just not for me. Some like tea, others coffee.
Still think its a great watch!

Also, I am not completely sold on any PVD Watch. Just never heard anything about the durability of the coating. Nothing would be worse than paying over $1k to get the watch coated only to get a bunch of scratches in it that show up as shiny lines!
