5513 Expert Help Needed: Correct and Original?
5513 Help Needed: Correct and Original? 8,841,xxx 1985
Exceptions I noted are replaced hands and the case has been polished and lacks beveled edges...Bracelet looks okay. Please note any issues seen. Thanks for the help. Ed |

The case has seen some heavy polishing - lugs look uneven

I think you got it right, watch as been polished and hands were replaced. It all depends on the price

Thanks for the input...I want to be sure the dial is correct, it has an unusual S on the Submariner word that I hadn't recalled seeing...Price is right for a well worn highly polished daily beater, but my main concern is that the parts are correct as shown. Ed

I didn't comment earlier because I couldn't find a coronet in that shape with the "L" placed underneath it like the example you're considering in the same serial number range.
The shape of the letter "S" in Submariner is consistent with the "S" seen on the matte mk1 and mk4 maxi dial and also some later examples with gloss dial and white gold surround examples of the mid 80's Here is link to an example with the letter "S" in the same shape but with a different coronet. http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...ght=5513+gloss
