DSOTM or GSOTM?

Which is you pick? I am falling towards the grey side but the dark side the award winner

Since the grey side is originally from a white ceramic, does that mean it is tougher than the black ceramic ala AP?

Btw are they retail at the same MSRP? .. and anyone know why omega purposely left out the common quick-set for the date indicator?

Love to learn more and hear your opinions!

HAGWE!! .. Jen

I have the original and almost picked up the GSOTM. When I compared the 2 side by side I just think the original looks more unique and sexier. I never get tired of the DSOTM but based on what I know about myself I would get tired of the GS. Im really looking forward to adding the back leather ceramic/Ti deployment buckle when it comes out this fall. It will make the DSTOM look even classier. Not a fan of the current cordova band. They are both very tough and in very rare cases could break if dropped at the wrong angle but I wouldn't worry about that. Go with the one that you like the best. You can't go wrong either way. Also you could wait until August and check out the other models that will be out.

Richard.. Yeah me too not fond of the Cordova strap. I love the grey tone but that black ceramic dial on the DSOTM is so "mysterious" to me.. I have yet to see the GSOTM in person. Hence I am holding out my decision till I seen both.

From Omega Instagram acoout I learn that they are pushing out an entire range of ceramic line vintage black, black black n etc etc.. 6 or 7 of them.. Out of all those still, only the dark side n the grey caught my eyes!

I decided on the DSOTM. No joke, the Dark side is super stealth. The strap is so comfortable it doesn't even feel like you have a watch on.

Anyway, fresh from the box still in it's wrapper and purchased from a trusted seller. HaHa!!

Crappy pics, so sorry.

They retail at the same MSRP, but in real world pricing (after discounts from ADs, grey market or trusted sellers), the DSOTM is cheaper than the GSOTM. I've seen DSOTM dip as low as $7k new, but the GSOTM is still closer to $8.5k new.

I have seen both in person... my prediction is that the DSOTM will hold its value better in a long run.

The original is the best. Ie, DSOTM. The GSOTM in person is very dull, having seen the piece several times.

Thank you Abhi!

That dark side sounds like a real bargain over the the grey!

(Btw.. Read from omega website, they grey dial is made from platinum.)

That's my thoughts too... Since that's the "original"

DSOTM was the award winner!

Ben, your London trip, your DSOTM started this for me! Thank you!

I have to agree with this.

The GSOTM is somewhat bland IMO. But I prefer dark dials, so what do I know.

Researched extensively, never saw new DSOTM for 7K. Got a link?

It was on jomashop's ebay page. They had reduced the Speedmasters by a lot! The DSOTM was down to $6.9k.

http://forums.watchuseek.com/f20/jom...s-1956737.html

Sadly, its back up to 8.8k now.

The Omega ceramics on the secondary market seem to be dropping weekly. 25% discount from ADs is not out of the question.

I have both (check my Instagram account for pics).

Retail for GSOM is roughly £500 more than the DSOM.

I purchased the DSOM last year and it's a fantastic casual/ smart casual watch especially with the strap. The white gold hands, markers and red Speedmaster logo on the dial are enough to break up the rest of the black appearance.

The GSOM....well I love any watch with a lighter dial and ever since I saw the GSOM I had to have it. Traded in my Breitlings and paid the difference and I don't regret it at all. It's great as a smart watch especially with the crocodile effect strap. It does wear rather discreetly compared to the DSOM as it absorbs the light rather than reflecting it.

Had the GSOM been available when the DSOM was out, I would have gone for the GSOM, simply due to the dial colour and the lume on the bezel and crown. I also feel the GSOM is more versatile as you can wear it with a suit as well as casual clothing. Whereas the DSOM doesn't wear as well with a smart suit as it looks too dark and the strap has a more sporty appearance.

According to the article below Omega is fitting even the original DSOTM and GSOTM with folding Ceramic/Ti clasp. Im really looking forward to this as its far safer then the current buckles. I wonder when they will start showing up in the ADs.

The buckle on the current DSOTM is ceramic. Not sure what you mean far safer than current model.
