We haven't gotten to the mock-up yet. I have proposed platinum case, blue dial and some guilloche background designs for his consideration. Movement side, I have opted for Côtes de Genève instead of frosted. I will update the other Vingt-8 thread when I hear from Kari again.

Ruthenium coating? I was planning for frosted gold but my friend has one and he convinced me to avoid it.

I can't remember but I generally don't like plating on my watch.

why did your friend convince you to avoid it? thought that was considered one of his signature finishes.

An update:
There is a very slight delay in the completion date from the originally scheduled Q1 2024 to April 2024 (not much really). I was informed by my AD that the production for my watch has started and the movement will commence next week. All good and I am expecting some work-in-progress pictures soon.

And yes, I'm looking forward to travel to my favourite country Japan to collect my Insight Micro-Rotor this April. I have already planned what ramen and teppanyaki (Kobe beef is incomparable) to have there. Alas the sakura bloom is over by then but there is always another time. I can't believe my heart is pumping fast as I am typing this post

I will also be in Tokyo in April. And looks like I will also miss the Sakura by a week just like last year.

Update
Below are 2 pictures of my actual watch during assembling. It's quite surreal seeing them as I have never experienced such personal service from a watch manufacturer. I can also choose between 2 numbers for my serial number.

Finally get to see these lovely sharp inward angles and bevels!

What an amazing thread have to look thru this part of the forum more often. Independents really have to be seen in person as the pictures don’t always do them justice.
Congratulations on an amazing timepiece- can’t wait for incoming post

Very nice model Michael.

The stock pix don’t show the ‘s’ screws in a good way?

Your new one should look much better.
