The tuck
I notice alot of men tend to tuck their watch underneath their shirt sleeves. I understand that occasionally shirts are shorter in length and sleeves ride up, but many times it looks intentional. This is rarely an issue for me and my watch only sees the light when I need the time and date. So am I missing the boat on something. Is this something you practice? If so please explain your reasoning.

I am reading and then re-reading your post, but I am still confused. Are you asking why some guys tuck their shirt under their Rolex? You asked "I notice alot of men tend to tuck their watch underneath their shirt sleeves" and this to me seems to be a natural thing, the watch resting under a shirt sleeve.
And you also said "This is rarely an issue for me and my watch only sees the light when I need the time and date" Well here goes my opinion, why wouldn't you want to show off your fine timepiece. But, I can say if the sleeves are long, they are covering the watch, I tend to wear short sleeves. |

Do you mean having the watch stick out intentionally even though you have a long sleeve shirt on?
I'm guilty as charged! I bought the watch so I can see it as well as others... I don't want it hidden.

For the record, I'm not "hating". Just wondering. I hear you it's nice to have people notice a watch you are proud of. I saw a lot of nice watches during a business convention this week and everyone seemed to have their own way of displaying theirs. Thanks for the honesty.

Its really just how it falls. If I had a slim dress watch, it'd probably hide under the sleeve, but larger watches tend to push the cuffs up if there's not much room. Personally, I like to show a bit of watch, less so with the Rolex as people might interpret it as trying to be flash, definitely with the less recognisable watches, such as my Stowa.

This might be a stupid question but does anyone get their shirts cut to show any watch. This past week I think the best display of a Rolex was a associate with a pepsi GMT that just peeked out of this shirt. It made me look with anticipation as he lifted his hand.

I actually hate when the cuffs are too tight and the Rolex can't "nap" under them!
Seriously, I just think it looks better and more natural when the cuff falls over the watch but a quick twist of the wrist and the watch (and of course the time) become visable. It's almost summer...short sleeves are coming, we won't have this issue soon. :-) -Pete

I wear my Rolex a little on the loose side ...... so it is usually outside of my shirt cuff.

I actually in contra, tuck my sleeves up a few folds, not to show my watch but it's a kind of casual look on shirt that I like. I wear Rolex for my own pride and love, not for anyone's look.

The only person I need to see my watch is me. I don't wear it to show it off, I wear it because I like it. It shouldn't matter what anybody else thinks. That's why when I get asked about it, I blow it off like it's no big deal.

I have them made with extra room in the left cuff to fit a larger watch. I also have them make the right cuff a bit larger to keep it uniform--not as large as the left though.

Mine rides under my cuff all the time. It protects the watch from scratches and no-one but me needs to know what I'm wearing.

I strap mine over the cuff of a long sleeve shirt...that way the watch can really be seen!

My DS has little to no problem fitting under my sleeves and frankly I prefer it that way. My employer is aware of what I am paid but don't want him to think that he is paying me too much. In fact most people in my industry with similar positions wear high end watches. This past week I saw 2 daytonas (1 WG / 1 YG), and nice DJ 2, a ferrari Pam, several subs, and a couple nice GMTs.
Some rolled their sleeves, some would jesture with their hands and by movement but some people on the casino floor seemed to be almost tucking their watches into their cuffs. There are times when I don't mind showing the world my qccomplishment, but most times, I prefer my rolexs to be a reminder to me of goals and future accomplihments.
