I'm still on the fence about the seconds sub-dial being smaller, I think it should have been nicer to keep all sub-dials the same size for symmetry.

I like the idea of having larger and easier to read chronograph dials. I liked seeing the numerals on the seconds hands though.. Guess you cannot have both.
The date window being a little off center at the time marker does not bother me and I did not even notice it but i guess others have issue with that.

100% agree. And they even moved the date window... even that not in centre of 4 and 5 anymore... not at all impressed with he new ROCs. Prefer the old ones

I really like the new grey/blue royal oak chrono color combo. Titanium is great too.. but 41K is too much of a premium otherwise would be on my list.

It's Ti and Pt, that's why so much.

I assure you the cost of the titanium and small amount Pt cost a fraction of the 16K price differential

To AP, it does – but to the dealer and the consumer…not so much.
Perceptions (aka smoke and mirrors) have to be maintained.

I assure you the price of that Pt bezel alone is at least $8k, that's 1/2 or more of the differential right there.

And I just meant that it's Pt too, not JUST Ti as you implied. I'm not saying it's justified.

Can someone post some pictures of the ROC black dial with silver sub dials?

I actually don't like any of these new 41mm chronographs. I feel they lack the timeless look, elegance, and sophistication of the original line. The contrasting sub-dials make them look too sporty which isn't what it's about on this watch. My next watch was going to be a steel or gold 41mm ROC... anyone know if they are still continuing production of the original line? Hopefully these aren't meant to be the replacements...

Looks good, but I still prefer the RO like 15202 Jumbo over the ROC. Maybe if they rid the date window.

These are all novelty items as well so I guess that means boutique only. Comes with gold bracelet or strap. Also steel version... Any thoughts?

I would actually consider one if it had see through back, even if it's not inhouse who cares, make it look great and show it. I kinda like the ti and pt but 40k they must be nuts for a little pt

I have no clue why they refuse to put a clear caseback on these. Even on the 42mm they started doing it now.

Because its not an in-house movement at all.

So they should stop being cheap and make one. Take the 15400 movement and put a chrono on it.

They take the 15202 movement and dump every complication on it for all their other watches. They might as well do the same for the 15400.

That's what they did for the Offshore line, a modular chronograph with the 3120 as the base calibre. Hence called calibre 3126/3840 with a Dubois Depraz module on top of it. Impossible to fit that on the case of the Royal Oak chronograph.

I've told AP many times and called them out on my articles, when are you releasing an in-house chrono for your entry level models?

Even Frederique Constant and Alpina have their own in-house.

If that is the case then they have to make one from scratch. I mean it's a bit ridiculous that a brand at this level has watches with outsourced movements.

The in house chrono is shamefully late. Still I love AP. They do so many other things right that others do wrong
