Rolex 6494 dating
Hi All
Im a bit stuck on dating this 6494 serial number comes up as 48 or 58 on Bobs watches and 46 on another site. The strap is mega worn but looks quite early but I can find anything similar to date it with . There are no numbers on the strap. Movement number is N35027 Any info would be much appreciated Thanks |

The clasp on that bracelet is a large logo, very desirable. Late 50s, Probably 1958 or 1959 but the rest of the bracelet and the end links look much later, probably 80s, possibly a service replacement. There is no definitive serial number list but looking at the style of the hands and the dial, it looks like late 50s. Verify that you arent missing a number in your serial number assessment. Sometimes they are hard to read. It should be 7 digit based off the style of the watch. There is probably a 1 before that 429.

6694 Dating
Thanks for the info on the strap , much appreciated.
I had my son take a good pic of the serial and even looked at it under a hand held microscope . There is no digit before the 4 ! so a early watch with a later band ? Thanks Simon |

Hi All-
New member and first time poster. I am currently looking at Rolex 6494. The owner says the year is 1944. The dial is a 3 6 9 configuration. While looking at Rolex's from this period I am not seeing many with this style dial. Could this be possible? Anything helps. Thanks! |

@Briemega
I'd go with 1946 as the production date of your watch. ___________ Instagram: @onthedial |

Both of these watches are from the 50's, with the second one a couple of years earlier than the first.
They both have later replacement bracelets.

Hi,
I have checked by 6494, the serial number also has 6 digits (not 7) only. |

Hi All-
You were a big help with helping me determine information on the last watch photo I posted. I found a Ref: 6426. Was hoping you could help me determine the year (give or take) and whether its components seemed to be original or not? Thanks again for your help. Oliver |
