With a little soap, toothpaste and elbow grease, I was able to give my GMT a proper makeover (I hope).

I understand now, by reading posts here on the vintage section, that it is not at all vintage, considering I have a 90s bracelet, MK4 dial, and replaced hands. But i still love and cherish it.

Allow me to post some pics...

I plan to bring it to RSC as case only. No bracelet as advised, here in the forum. Here are the things I want them to check:

1. movement, see if any parts need to be serviced.
2. water resistance, make sure it can at least be submerged (bathroom sink, at least).

Now, I plan on replacing the acrylic, since there are really fine scratches that toothpaste can't seem to get rid off. Lastly, get a new bracelet.

I was hoping if the good people here in TRF can suggest on what else I may have missed, before I go to RSC? I was thinking of getting the plots(?) re-lumed if possible, and would you think RSC would still have an oyster bracelet available for a 1675?

Looking forward to your responses. Thanks.

I would never send to Rolex. Find a watchmaker here and source a band from a trusted seller. Very nice gmt.

Your watch is nice mate. Maybe not all original but a fine watch nonetheless. Off to some servicing now just to make sure. Enjoy!

Thanks for your kind words. If my memory serves me right, this will be the third time it will be serviced. Unfortunately, my dad has lost the original dial and hands when the RSC replaced them.

IMHO there's really nothing you need to do with this watch. If it is keeping good time wear it, its really good looking. If you feel it needs a service maybe do that, if you don't just keep it out of the water...

Very pretty GMT I would only...

Have the movement overhauled & new acrylic installed; as has already been stated.
You have a keeper for certain!

& welcome back!

Justin
