Stainless steel nautilus.

Are these readily available at dealers anywhere in the world or are they as rare as people say?

Unused selling for 5k over retail in the U.K.

Could fly anywhere in the world to pick one up for that premium!

Depends what Nautilus... I saw a few 5726's in Vegas @ AD's (white dial on bracelet or grey dial on strap) ..

5711/5712 maybe a lot tougher though.

I don't think readily available but I've come across a few 5711's (white mostly) in the last few months both in the US and HK. Each time not on display, in the safe, so had to ask. Haven't seen a 5712 in steel, gold I've seen plenty.

I'd start calling every AD you can. What's to lose? Upside is a watch and a nice trip.

5712 is relatively easy to come by in the US. I called about 15 ADs around the country last week and at least three had them in stock. My phoning paid off as I was able to snag a bit more challenging piece. Deposit put down and piece is expected in a few months

Maybe US and Europe have better chances, here in Asia mostly Singapore, HK, Malaysia, and Japan no stocks of any steel Nautilus at boutiques or AD's (told me they sell within 24hrs once they arrive) GD quite plenty if you dont mind paying a premium. Goodluck in the hunt

A few appear on eBay between $1K and $5K over list price. Mostly white dials and they will come with someone's name on the papers - still new but obviously being shilled.

Great choice, my fav, you won't regret it, it takes up 70% of my wrist time, and the other watches I have aren't too crappy either

About steel Nautiluses, the blue dial 5711 is in some regions almost impossible to have unless relations or prior purchases from AD, white as well but less, 5712 is also very hard to get, that's for Europe, in the US it seems they are easier to come by, but in any case great watches and worth the effort put into getting them

Good luck on that one, I have a friend waiting more than 4 years, I am getting mine in a few months, but the AD told me that if I had not gotten already 2 Patek from him he wouldn't be able to sell it to me

Thanks Arnaud. It's actually the blue 5711 that I'll be getting. Haven't even gotten it yet and I'm thinking I'll want to flip it for a 5712. That model is just much more interesting to me. Got the 5711 because I thought I'd be silly to turn it down. Only time will tell

Ok Tay, I agree on it being more interesting, I really love mine, but the 5711 does have a lot of charm, I also wanted the beautiful chameleon dial of the 5711 as well, I think the 5712 will always stay my fav, but I think having both is cool as hell, some won't agree of course and think it's redundant, maybe it is, but don't really care, anyways you'll see if after some time you feel you would prefer the 5712 then you can flip the 5711 to get it, at current prices on grey you'll make a few K normally, congrats in advance mate

tourneau at the forum shops had a 5726 last week, but not sure of the price. Also saw one at the AD @ Bellagio and @ Wynn. Can't remember all the store names, but call every Patek AD in Vegas, I'm sure you'll find a 5726 with ease.

In France, any SS Nautilus is close to impossible to get depending on where you are, in France the ONLY AD, Wempe, told me they were getting ZERO, and the Salon told me they were taking NO ONE on the list for any SS Nautilus or the SS 5167, the 2 hardest to get are 5711 and next 5167 and 5712, but even others are really hard, unless you go I don't know where, I had to go to CH to get my 5712 and getting my 5711 from the same Swiss AD, got my 5167R as well there, though in France it is probably obtainable, the SS that is not hard to get is the 5164, the Salon had one which I could have on the spot, but as much as I love the RG not a huge fan of the SS

That's interesting - mind sharing which location?

I wonder if the wait for a 5990 is demand side ('normal' production but relatively high demand) or supply side ('normal' demand but relatively low production).

For what it's worth I've had my 5990 for a little over a year now and I find it's the ultimate travel watch and enjoy it tremendously.

I'm not familiar with the UK, but here in the US I simply paid in full and put my name on the list at my local AD. Got a call in 1 1/2 months saying they just received a blue dial 5711 and asked if I wanted it (I originally ordered the white dial) and of course I took it. My advice would be find an AD in a rural area with a small waitlist, pay in full if possible, and you might get lucky fairly quickly. Just my two cents. I wouldn't pay over retail though in my opinion.

best option is to go the AD where you have a good relationship with and place an order. you should get it in a few months? otherwise you have to pay a premium for a new one.

I agree with what has been said above. Pretty difficult to find through Europe except for a few pieces here and there (usually not the 5711 or 5712 though). I'm surprised to hear that it's relatively easy to come by a 5712 in the US. I called a handful of dealers in a few different cities with no luck. I'm American, but living in Europe, so I would have just picked one up in the US.

I was told a wait of 2-3 years for a 5712 in Europe, but I received it in only 3 months. I'm with lapince, I love the 5712, and in a range of different natural and artificial lights, the dial does sing; maybe not as prominently as the 5711, but really amazing!

I would speculate that the difficulty finding SS Nautilus at ADs in the EU/UK is due to the lower price compared to the US, considering USD has been quite strong relative to the Euro/GBP over the past year or so.

EU/UK residents have to compete with international visitors in getting a SS Nautilus. However there is an advantage to being a EU/UK resident because Patek strongly encourage ADs to sell first to their "local" customers.

So I would recommend calling and/or visiting as many ADs in your region and develop a relationship with them. Salespeople and store managers/owners are human beings and many of them appreciate having a nice conversation with a customer, whether you make a purchase from them or not.

Uk list for the 5711 is £18,030 which equates to just over $22k. I assume that this is significantly cheaper than the current US list price.

It's possible to get a 5711 wishin 6 mths. But you need to have a good relationship with your AD and have had to purchased Pateks from them before. A new customer would have to wait 1 to 2 years depending on where their AD is located in the Uk. London ADs have the longest waiting lists.
